02.05.2021 - Thunder - Finishing downtime and plotting the course
General Summary
- S talks to a magical looking woman (a sage) and boy. He is looking into some stuff for Coty
- She talks very slowly, and often gets lost in thought. Her clothes are filled with scrollwork
- The boy is her apprentice. Celenwe. He has tattoos of scrollwork down his spine
- He is knowledgeable about elemental magic
- The sage has a scribe to talk to, so she lets S talk to her apprentice
- S asks about the family of Dristward(?), maybe halfling heritage
- After discussing with the apprentice for a while, and getting some leads, he interrupts the master that is currently dictating something that might take years.
- The master agrees to trade information if S gives her a recipe for muffins
- The last record of the person S is looking for is from Tritonia 8 years ago
- The last decade or so, the records are more uncertain
- The last record of someone with that name is a town called Arbington
- S asks for the place where the author is buried
- In the crystal caves, some of the sages has offered up their services long term. She tells S to talk to Maltanthir (Arnini's master)
- S asks the apprentice to make him a list of people with any of the two last names he has been asking about
- He also asks about a mythical materials
- Coty has been hanging out with Maltanthir and Arnini, trying to find out about trapping magic in crystals etc.
- Void tries to find out about the mark on his hand, and about a sword he needs to complete
- Thunder goes to talk to a sage about how to help Cloud
- The sage says he could find out for her. He will have to look into some things, but will come back to her in a few days.
- He is convinced T is on a sages path (travelling, seeking knowledge and memorizing it)
- She goes around asking other people, but doesn't find anything other than rumours etc.
- We meet up on the evening before the day of the convergence
- We have been contacted by various factions (called paths) that are trying to figure out who we are, and where our allegiance lies
- S informs us about what he has figured out from the sages
- Loraldon(?) is an elemental mage like Coty
- Rumours that he lives in Tritonia, but the author mentioning him is dead
- Maltanthir has the remains
- Arnini informs us that this is the guy that he sold his soul to
- Might be a clue about him in the town called Arbington
- Ulrith is a very common hafling name
- Was maybe an Ulrith living 100 years ago (?)
- Just one page of names though, and some notes scribbled for each name
- Dristword(?) not that much info about, but if they found info about it it's on the list
- Arnini shows S all the ingredients he bought for him
- S is worried that all the meat will rot, since it's so much
- Coty and S discuss making it a routine to put in blocks of ice into the bag each day
- Thunder goes through the items and gives away things she can't use
- Casually mentioning that the child-sized bone hand is not magical
- Thunder asks C if she wants the magical dagger, and explains what it does (as well as the curse)
- S tells us what his master told him about Auril
- C asks T to try to bring the dagger close to her necklace
- It glances off without touching, and there is a screeching sound
- C thinks it's best that she doesn't use it
- Give's the Goddess' jewels to S
- Shows them the music box
- S wants to use it to store meat
- Shows them the fancy instrument
- No one is proficient in alchemy, so Void takes it (because he has to hoard valuables now)
- Shows them the small bone maul /(retconned into a maul, instead of a club)
- It's not optimal for anyone, but S takes it
- Shows the cigar box
- Arnini takes it
- Mentions that she'll be using a different armour from now on (S will move the Blessing to something else)
- Tells the others that all of Void's rings are cursed, and that he didn't want to identify the evil book
- S is concerned that the book(?) is the reason Void has been talking to himself more than normal
- Void doesn't remember anything in the tower after the treasure room
- Void talks about what his rings do
- S asks if Void wants any of them removed. He says yes, but can't remove them
- S will sleep on it, and can try to remove one of them tomorrow
- We talk about the war - S is struggling with being the only good-aligned PC
- Malagnim wants to slaughter the citizens of Yin. Has support from the oppressed
- S wants to stop him. He agrees with his cause, but don't think this is the solution
- S wants to convince them that peace and agreement is the path to take
- A genocide will just reinforce the notion that magic is dangerous
- Glannon seeks a calm union
- We discuss making a huge natural catastrophe, that can't be stopped by anything other than magic. Then stopping it
- We can also spread rumours and sentiments among people to turn the tide
Plan: Talk to Glannon about his plan. T might want to sneak off to talk to Malagnim about how he plans to get Cloud's magic back.
(I wrote up Blessing of the Forge +1 on the new worg armour, but it doesn't affect magical items, so remember to remove it)
