01.02.2025 - Scribe-5 - The Second Acorn

General Summary

  • As Master Sabazios falls, the paint brushes, and the walls of easels disappear as well
  • Scribes washes the paint off of the dwarf and the doggo with Prestidigitation
  • The dog is a bit larger and wilder that Glør
  • Sylword takes out some boar meat from the bag of colding, but thinks we should cook it before giving it to the dog
  • His master told him that it's important to heat boar meat before eating.
  • And judging by how he treated Sylword, it probably also applies to dogs
  • Sylword finds the most expensive chair he can find and some old books, and uses it to build a bonfire (Making sure that the stone tiles prevent the fire from spreading)
  • There are some magical sparks and acrid smoke
  • But we manage to cook the boar meat on the closeby tiles
  • While we take a long time cooking meat and resting, the butler doesn't move at all
  • Bucket spends the time looking for the missing dwarf, but gets distracted by two paintings that he knows should be in his room and in his house
  • He concludes that they have been stolen, and takes them with him
  • They are 0.5x1m paintings, but he secures them in some curtains, and straps them on his back
  • He asks Scribes to help him tie it properly
  • Void investigates Erin's painting (with Scribes help)
  • It seems to speak to him in a way, like a presence left in the painting
  • There's also something different, than what he remembers from the scene
  • Sylword finishes the cooking, and Scribes uses Prestidigitation to make it taste better (to Sylword great offence)
  • Since she knows that Sylword cares a lot about food, Scribes has been taking notes of reactions whenever anyone eats anything in her vicinity.
  • Bucket casts Speak with Animals
  • The dog reluctantly approaches, grabs the food as soon as it's within reach
  • Bucket steps backwards to give him space, and the dog rushes behind a table to eat
  • Scribes notices that there's something strange about the dog, as if his fur has painted layers underneath the top
  • The colors seems to get stronger as he eats, as if it's lighting up
  • Coty tries to give the butler some food
  • He politely declines, without looking at her
  • Coty eats it instead
  • Coty tries to finish her painting, but manages to make it worse.
  • It now looks dark and depressed
  • Scribes look over Bucket's contract, to get some clues about what Erin signed, and how it would affect her
  • She finds several loopholes for both sides
  • Bucket continues to give it food, and it now moves shorter distances to eat
  • The dog doesn't really answer his questions about it's origin
  • When it is eventually satisfied, Bucket suddenly gets a PING
  • The dog notices Bucket looking at something, and goes over to retrieve it from one of the corners
  • It is playfully not giving him the item
  • Bucket tries to play with him, and switch the item with a bone from the ground
  • He eventually manages to do so, and the dog gets him to throw the bone for him
  • The item he got was a golden nut
  • Void finds out that Erin's painting is magical (enchantment + divination)
  • He reaches out to the magic, and suddenly sees the memory from Erin's perspective
  • He thinks it's strange that Erin would remember this, since she was very young at the time
  • Through the painting, he feels Erin's protective instinct
  • The memory flows into his mind, and he now remembers it as if it was his own
  • Sylword and Coty notices that Bucket is holding a mangled mass of metal
  • Bucket is elatedly showing of the "golden nut"
  • Sylword tries to explain that it is not a nut, but Bucket denies that with "It pings!"
  • It looks like it used to be a metal sculpture, before being mangled by the hound
  • After a closer look, Sylword sees that it is an expertly crafted metal head, almost identical to Scribes head, except that it has been changed into a sculpture
  • Sylword tries to make sure Scribes doesn't notice the situation
  • He gets Coty to draw what she sees, to show Bucket that it's something else
  • She gets a bit liberal with the colors, but she's pretty happy with the end result
  • Bucket paints a slightly worse version of what he sees
  • Sylword tries to get Bucket to close his eyes and leave the suit
  • They compromise and Bucket tries to put it into the food shelf so he can touch it
  • It would fit if it was a nut, but not if it was a head
  • The dog runs over with a paint brush, which Bucket throws for him
  • Sylword gets him to walk to the food hatch inside the suit, and touch it, but he can't until the hatch is closed (which doesn't work, since the head is too big)
  • He gives up, and Bucket puts the head in his backpack for now
  • Sylword suggests that it is not the real Rillifain that's showing him the golden nuts
  • He gives up, and asks the rest of the room to help get through to Bucket
  • As we gather, the dog brings one of the brushes from the fight to Scribes, who throws it
  • The brush moves strangely through the air, and the bristles seems to move on their own
  • Sylword shows Scribes the head, and she sees that it is from the same model as herself
  • Sylword asks Bucket to turn around, and we saw a hole in a table, for Scribes to stick her head out of
  • He still only sees Scribes
  • Sylword wants to force Bucket out of the suit, but Scribes thinks we shouldn't before
  • Void brings up that Bucket felt the same ping towards him after the court case
  • Scribes is worried that he'll go after Erin, since he's apparently hunting siblings of his travelling companions
  • There are only 5 of Scribes model, but three golden nuts to collect
  • Sylword casts Speak with Dead on the warforged head
  • "Who killed you?"
  • "My master"
  • "When did you die?"
  • "In the grand tritonian war"
  • "Who was your master"
  • "My master is Aldric Alaric Caius Mountain " -> He is the former king
  • "Who is Scribe-5 to you?"
  • His creation and model sibling
  • "What do you know of the Guardians of the White City?"
  • He recites everything he knows about squarians, from the perspective of Tritonian politics
  • They're a closed off race, but have a close relation with a neighboring city
  • They're at war with Orcs
  • They control the northern forest north of Lake Fuirc (??)
  • A large tree towers over the forest, with golden leafs
  • It generally seems like Tritonia and the White City had very little to do with each other
  • Scribes thinks this one is called Scribe-3
  • Bucket has to inform the other brothers that he has found another (he did the same for the first)
  • The winner has to have all three nuts, so the brothers will have to take his ones
  • Sylword and Bucket gets sidetracked by Sylword revealing that he used to be a thief out of necessity
  • Bucket grew up in a castle, so he doesn't understand poverty
  • We're wondering if Bucket's family might have some relation/trade with devils, since his paintings ended up here
  • Coty wants to display her drawing of the head in Veilhearth
  • Scribes asks her to at least not display it where she can see it
  • Scribes casts Telepathic Bond, including the dog and Thargnak Ironroot Thorne
  • Bucket asks the dog's name, but it is in a language that's not translatable
  • It means something like embers/fire/warmth
  • The dog is jumping around playfully, jumping into the fire, but not reacting
  • Scribes mentiones that she can use Nondetection on Void, to hide him from E for 8 hours
  • We walk through the door to hell
  • The butler tries to offer Bucket some Avarian Fizzlewine, which Bucket suspiciously declines. "I'm driving"
  • It's a really expensive wine that only nobles drink
  • Sylword tries to ask what the wine goes well with, but the butler just says that it is a refreshment offered by Lady Empusia
  • Sylword accepts it
  • The butler tells us that E is awaiting us in the gallery
  • The hallway we're walking through is lined with pedestals with blank nameplates
  • We hear whispers from them, reciting names we feel like we should remember where we've heard them before, but don't
  • Scribes writes down the names as she hears them, but can't seem to remember them now either
  • We discuss it a bit, and Scribes is concerned that the others think that forgetting stuff is normal
  • We keep walking and find a tired looking attending dozing off at a desk
  • They are a tiefling with red skin and black hair
  • We're welcomed into the Hall of Hollowed(?) names
  • The attendant points out two pieces as his favourites
  • Bucket asks for a brochure, and immedietely hands it to Scribes
  • All it says is "Offer that which defines you, or remain forgotten forever"
  • The dog is following us, carrying the paint brush

Plan

Explore the exhibition

Look at the paint brush (to save Niels' sanity)

Look for clues about Void's sister, and a way to stop his tattoo from taking over

Save the last dwarf that we accidentially sent to Hell (Bucket's honor depends on it)

---------------------------------

Sylword can cast Locate Object on the knife that was left on the other side of the Lorladon portal.

Scribes needs to read up on what pranks are, and think of one to prank Sylword and Bucket back. Since they told her to.

Learn the new spells: Aquired but unlearned spells

Scribes needs to talk to Coty about what happened with Lorladon (Coty wants to assemble her voodoo dolls first)

We should turn Custodian Auren over to the Path of Hill, claiming that we held him while we investigated his crime of impersonating the Emperor
