The Land Wept
“In Ancient lands, where giants tread,
Annam, the All-Father, turned his head,
Ashamed of kin, he did take flight,
In wake of their failed draconic fight.
The endless storm, with endless tides,
Began to weep, its wrath put aside,
For Annam, the tempest did mourn,
With salty tears, a river was born.
Where giants lament, and dwarfs creep,
The mountains mourned, but did not weep,
From stone, a spring of sorrow sprung,
Where mountains hidden grief could now run.
Near All-Fathers throne, wept more peaks,
Their anguished wailing, like banshees shrieks,
Their ceaseless sobbing tears did flow,
Until born, were two rivers of woe.
Across the lands, where tears converged,
A lake of longings lost, soon emerged,
Filled by tempest tears and peaks woes,
By their cries, the lakes waters had rose.
Thus land weeps still, beneath the sky,
For Annam’s heart, the mountains still sigh,
In raging waves and gentle streams,
Lives on the weight, of his shattered dreams.”
Lives on the weight, of his shattered dreams.”
Purpose
Believed to partly be a form of folklore to explain the formation of The Weeping Waters, it also serves as the purpose of mourning the loss of their primary deity Annam.
