Storm Crab

Threat Level: Extremely High

Physical Description

Storm crabs are colossal crustaceans with four monstrous claws and a poisonous stinger. Equally adept underwater or on shore, they can exhale a jet of pressurized water to crush foes.   The Stormcrab, as the name implies, somewhat resembles a crab, although all similarities end at the shell and claws. As its elongated body seems to resemble that of a centipede, while the stinger at the end is more akin to that of a scorpion.

Behavior

Exclusively inhabiting the Ocean of Storms, the Stormcrab is one of Jotunheims more feared inhabitants, due to its sheer size and aggression, often shooting airships from the air with jets of water. Luckily, stormcrabs are also highly territorial, and so tend to be on the rarer side, as only one Stormcrab will usually patrol an area at a time.   During the month of Pawm, however, the Stormcrabs seem to not only swell in number, but even become more aggressive then normal (if such a thing is possible). It is thought that this is due this time of year being the perfect breeding and egg laying season, due to the increased storm activity within and around the Ocean of Storms. And the increased sighting being attributed to males coalescing to do battle with each other for the right to mate. Although, this is unproven as no egg, nor observation of any similar activities relating to egg laying, is feasible due to the harsh storms and the battling stormcrabs. Even those foolhardy enough to attempt similar observations have refused, with noted explorer Humber Dumblfeet commenting, “Hah!… Wait your serious..? HAHAH!!”

Giant Legend

Much like the Roc and Behirs, the Stormcrab is thought to have been created during the Great War, where dragons battled with giants. With stormcrabs being meant to battle dragon turtles, bronze dragons, and other aquatic foes.   However, after the war ended, they are said to now fiercely guard the underwater strongholds of storm giants, as well as the ruined keeps giants abandoned by giants.
