Mythology & Lore
In the beginning Jörð mothered Njord and Hœnir. She created the mountains as a sanctuary for her sons. Njord created the great sea and Hœnir brought Landvættir bringing life essence to the land. After some time Njord was longing for companionship so Jörð brought him Rán. However, Rán was known to cause havoc. Hœnir had enough and formed Hod from his anger and Delling from his righteousness. Together they formed a massive whirlpool in the center of the ocean restraining Rán in its depths.
Together the two brothers Delling and Hod created man from the ash trees that populated the land. Each brother set forth their own code of laws for mankind to follow. They agreed on dividing man up evenly. Delling would take the east and Hod took the west. Under Delling man grew into a complex society governed through a +++ that flourished with development. However, Hod's people suffered under his tyranny enforcing his laws through fear of annihilation.
Delling who saw what happened in the west took it upon himself to smother out Hod before he inevitably tried to expand his terrible rain past the Great Sea. He directed all who worshiped him to construct the three great watchtowers one through the passage in the north and two blocking passage through the south. Thus, launching the 100-year war.
