Lakeda
Though parts of the city are quite beautiful indeed, one might never forget that Lakeda is the single last place where slavery is still practiced in Joia.
Demographics
The population of Lakeda is almost singularly human in its free population with two-thirds being free. The last third are indentured servants and though many of these are also human, there are large amounts of dwarves as well as some orcs.
Government
Lakeda is run by the Magisters of Lakeda. These individuals are voted in with the stipulation that all are casters and will elect a Supreme Magister among themselves. The most prevalent laws are those that allow the indentured servants to exist in the first place though another prevalent law is that no free individual of Lakeda may take up arms for the city with the exception of the Magisters who run the army.
Defences
The most prevalent defense of the city is the unflinching army itself, but the other prevalent defense is the walls of the city as well as the mountains that border the city. These defenses are rarely used however as the city is much more often on the offensive rather than the defensive.
Districts
There are five different districts within Lakeda. The Golden Point is, as the name suggests, the richest district of the city where most of the Magisters live. This district also holds the schools of the city. Both those for magic, but also strategy. Coppercrown is the district both of commoners, but also craftsmen with it being the industrial center of the city. Glass Road, Cleargate, and South Gate are all gate districts in which, some distance away from the walls of the city, lies the barracks of the army.
Points of interest
The main point of interest would be the Hall of Law where the Magisters write their laws as well as the University of Change where one can learn the most complex theories of the school of transmutation.
Geography
Lakeda is found in a valley with three of their sides having tall mountains not far away and only their northern side being relatively flat terrain. They are also the closest of the Free Cities to the Medden river which draws the border between the League and the Kingdom through the mountains to the west and stands in the way of any possible invasion.
