Personal history
Averill was born amongst Nidinia's inner circle, thanks to their parents. Their father, an Alyrian male, is an advisor tho the crown. While their mother, a Uqanan female, was a highly decorated military official. Averill spent most of their days surrounded by soldiers and children of nobility. Despite being accepted into both groups, Averill's early years were mostly spent training and learning so that they could keep up with the other children. When Averill wasn't learning or training, they were content with spending time around their parents, who they greatly admired. They wanted to follow behind in their mother's shoes, hoping to one day be the same rank as she. Sadly, Averill's mother lost her life due to an assassination attempt on the royal family. This prompted Averill to not only pledge to follow in their mother's shoes but to also protect the royal family who so readily embraced the remaining Fyre members at their darkest times.
Because of this, Averill is fiercely loyal to the royal family and has no problem putting their life on the line for them, especially the King. After their mother's death, the King took Averill under his wing and taught him everything he could. When Averill's father, Joceus, left on trips, the King was always there to make sure Averill had a room in the castle.
Years upon years of training and dedication allowed Averill to rise through the military ranks. They were awarded a ranking spot in the King's army but also on the King's personal guard, at his personal request. Because of how much the King trusts Averill, it is not unusual to see Averill directly beside the figureheads or receiving personal requests from the King.
Gender Identity
Depending on the player's choice, Averill can be female, male, or nonbinary. If the character chooses for Averill to be nonbinary, then it should be noted that Averill says that using she/her pronouns is fine.
"Ah, thank you. If only some of these nobles shared your initiative. Identifying me as she is fine." - Averill Fyre when asked about pronouns
Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Trained to uphold Ipharia and Nidinia's interests close to their heart, Averill is a model knight and guards-person. Which is precisely what they want. Averill is motivated by the idea that they are helping those in need, at the same time that they're doing their country proud. At the end of the day, that's all Averill truly wants. For everyone and the land they love to be safe.
Some may say that Averill's dedication goes a bit too far, sometimes causing them to seem stubborn and overly prideful. And perhaps that is true, but beneath their love for their country sits a sweet and kind heart who simply wants to save everyone.
Likes & Dislikes
Due to the circumstances in which Averill and Apprentice meet, and what comes after, the initial meeting is vital to earning Averill's respect for doubting purposes. Averill admires those who put the safety and wellbeing of others in front of themselves. Though, when it comes to the machinations of the court, respect those who can hold their own and take control of the room. Averill gets along with those who share their belief in the kingdom, as well as their morals.
Failing to earn Averill's respect will result in a far more stricter and less convinced Averill. Whether or not you flirt with them, in the beginning, doesn't matter. If Averill doesn't respect you, then they, like everyone else, will be convinced that you are guilty and will be adamant in hunting you down to bring you to justice.
Angering Averill is about as easy as causing them to smile. Doing anything for selfish reasons and causing hardship on another's life will be met with the same scowl. Refusing to help the needy or speaking badly about the country will also cause Averill's dislike to increase.
