Edicts of Existence
The Edicts of Existence are the fundamental truths enforced by the Keepers of the Sea of Sparks. The Edicts, as with all of reality, were created at the beginning of time during The Existential Permutation, presumably by the Keepers, or possibly whatever created the Keepers. The Edicts govern the The Sea of Sparks and all that draw from it.
The Edicts are also known as "The Edicts" or "The Truths." There are four rules that are laid out by the Edicts of Existence and enforced by the enigmatic Keepers.
1. The Sea is What all things are created of.
2. No Spark is ever taken or lost, merely borrowed.
3. Mortal souls may not return to the Sea, but cannot forever sustain of it.
4. To defy the Edicts is to be unmade.
The Edicts are believed to not have been created until the Existential Permutation and the beginning of time because, according to the legends, the Primordial Gods seemed to be able to act in direct violation of Edicts. Most notably, the Divine creator himself, Ito, the Old God of Creation created the world and Mortals in acts that seem to defy the Truths.
