Ixos

The lands around the sea of Ixos are old and fertile. On its eastern side, nestled by the Notian Mountains stands the Aylean Republic, built from the ashes of the old Kingdom of Aylea. Where there once was great elven cities and sprawling dwarven fortresses now host vast farmlands cultivated by the multitude of inhabitants of the Republic.

30 Years ago, the waters of the sea of Ixos swelled and rose to unprecedented levels. What started as four days of torrential rain was soon followed by the great rivers breaking out of their beds and drowning out the surrounding farmlands. It wasn't long before the great waves crashed upon the shores of Aylea, swallowing the land in great bites. After nine full days, the storm finally stopped and the waters receded. Swaths of land would forever stay trapped beneath the waves whilst other were simply transformed, the earth salted and toxic. Thought the calamity is over, the Republic itself tethers on the edge.
