Xephra

The Path Weaver, Keeper of Crossroads, Warden of Planar Gates

The Deity of Trial and Error, Passages, and Planar Transfers.   Their symbols include an hourglass with milk flowing through it, or a blowfish with roads and tracks spiraling around it. Blowfish totems are used to protect travelers. Xephra has a special connection to fencers and duelists.   The organizations and cults of his followers are The Order of the Timeless Blade, the philosophy of the Eternal Road, and bizarrely a comedy group The Milk of Passage. Many duel and fencing clubs honor Xephra.   The disciples of Xephra achieve mastery of fencing weapons, meditate on the nature of time and its passage, study maps and learn the secrets of hidden paths and portals. They are the masters of area knowledge, and have been known to perform rituals to pause or manipulate time for short periods. A lot of mages are interested in the chronomancy aspect because it is impossible through the traditional manipulation of mana. To their disappointment, the time manipulation flows from the divine and cannot be readily replicated via the mundane thaumatology.   Shrines of Xephra are located at crossroads or significant passages. Temples are decorated with milk hourglasses, fencing swords, and detailed maps. Priests and archivists assemble impressive libraries of cartography. There are rumors that the most important Xephra temples have rooms where time seems to stand still or flow differently.   Skillful duelists and travelers sometimes become the chosen of Xephra, granting them the ability to perform minor time manipulations in combat.   The Sword of Eternal Paths is a legendary Xephraic fencing sword that allegedly can open portals to other planes by slicing through the fabric of spacetime. Another artifact is The Fog of the Infinite - a chalice that grants visions of possible futures when filled with milk.
