Myrkath
The Whisper of Ruin, The Hiss of Despair, The Echoing Void, The Kiss of Silence, The Serpent Breaker
The Deity of Sound, Ruin, and Loss.
Myrkath's seal is a kiss mark with a serpent's tail winding through it or a pine tree with poisoned needles falling in a spiral. They are not a wholesome deity to worship, but nevertheless gained popularity in some regions.
Practitioners of Myrkathian meditations chant the mantras to create intricate soundscapes and connect with their god. Some hope it will bring protection from ruin. A darker ceremony is ritual destruction of pines poisoned by special rites to symbolize the inevitability of loss. As the tree loses its needles, they are gathered, preserved, and later used in rites, poisons, and potions.
Myrkathian clerics gain the mastery of sacred chants and sounds to invoke or ward off ruin. They study the lore of poisoned plants as symbols of decay and loss. They can manipulate sound, creating echoes or silences as needed. Their more subtle arts involve enhanced perception of hidden or lost sounds and messages. Formidable Myrkathian priests have power to induce ruin or decay in objects and structures.
Places of worship are built in desolate or ruined places, feature chambers for silent meditation and chanting rituals as well as altars with kiss marks and symbols of loss and ruin.
