Goliath
They begged to be rescued, but instead they were changed.Old Itzantia, A History. William Shelley, published by All Stars Aground, 1101The Warriors of Isiereon, or Goliaths as they would be called by the other species of Itzantia, became when explorers landed on the shores of Isidoa to attempt escape from a vicious storm. Their vessels were destroyed in the process and the lack of materials for repair in the tundra spelt certain doom for the ship's crews. It is said that the crews' prayers for the ability to survive the subzero temperatures were met by Isiereon - God of War. Instead of giving them the means to repair their ships or build settlements, the violent God instead made the survivors capable of living in the inhospitable terrain of Isidoa. Visibly their skin became tougher, with bone formations and tribal tattoo style skin markings; their eyes became striking shades of blue or green. Over years Goliaths became taller and stronger, and their skin tones took on more grey, brown tones. The surviving explorers were a majority human, but any traits from other species that arrived with them have all but disappeared over the centuries. The conditions in Isodoa are such that large settlements are near impossible to maintain. As a tribe grows too big it splits. A split unusually coincides with a Captain, who want's the Chieftain's roll, taking their family and supporters with them. Goliaths rarely travelled from the continent of Isidoa until the War of the Gods. As his warriors, Isidoa commanded tribes to make the treacherous journeys across the oceans and that is why you will find Goliath tribes across the world.
