The Hunt for Yuel: Session 24

Percy and Kiniko stepped out of the drug den/Hunters Lodge as Percy received a sending for Feeloe. Feeloe quickly informed him that thing were about to get interesting and busy on Valnar and he wasn't sure if he'd be able to provide them much help, but that his ending stone were synced so they could reach him even if they something weird happened. Percy updated him on the basics of their current situation.   Percy, followed by Kinoko began looking for signs of Igra, the Half-Orc girl guiding Yule around the Abandon. in a discussion with a Tiefling gentlemen Percy climbed up onto a roof top and started to head south looking for signs of Igra. Percy did attempt to lick some dry blood during this investigation, but was protected by Kinoko's magic.   Kinoko informed the others that Percy had run off. Kelger gave Kinoko a capture bag( left behind by the bounty hunter, before they party followed after Percy.   Percy was drawing the attention of locals frustrated by him running across their roof. While they followed Vazulo reached out the divine and heard the voice of the unknow Celestial. "The voice told him he must stop the ritual." both Percy and the others drew attention of Demon patrols but while the trio ignored their hales to stop, when Percy noticed his, he got of the roof and engaged with them, Being incredibly honest with them, telling much of his life story as well as revealing that he and his "friends" purpose for being their and pointing out they traveled with a blue skinned Celestial, but not the one the Demons were looking for. In fact the party was also looking for that Celestial. The Demon leading the patrol requested person come with him to got to the Southern Castle. Percy did not have the time and countered with them helping each other, the but the Demon insisted they got to the castle to speak with Zizgaban. as the party caught up but remained hidden, Percy realized he had said to much and tried to claim the party had left the plane with a devil. Things started to get sketchy and Lorelai banished one of the Demons. Kiniko cast web to trap the Demon which alerted them to the danger. Combat ensued and several other patrols were attracted to their commotion. The party did manage to kill the leader of the patrol ( or the demon birds killed him after Percy teleported him into the air) but as things went from bad to incredibly bad the each seme-independently decided to flee, hide, or deceive their way out of the situation after the webbing had only caught them and the Demons were capturing them in a strange black ooze.   Percy escaped into the river and swam up a pipe and emerged in side an iron extracting facility. He stayed inside until the commotion outside ended. Vazulo pretended to be a druggy looking for a fix, claiming Percy stole his drugs, and Kiniko beast shaped into a tiny spider latching onto an invisible Lorelai who lay flat against a roof.   Lorelai and Kiniko were able to listen in on a few conversations between the Demon patrols. Lorelai, Kinoko, and Percy had been identified and the Demon guard patrols were on the look out for them. They also overheard the demons confusion over not just coming to the Southern Castle, assuming their refusal meant they were working with the Celestials and that the ritual was going to be messed up at this rate. At the mention of the ritual the calm Demons became immediately ravenous assaulting the one that had just spoke.   Vazulo, having no communication from his allies once the patrols cleared almost an hour later, returned to the hunting lodge feeling abandoned by his companions. He continued to reach out to the Celestial who seemed to be restrained from responding, only learning that someone could be "locked out". Lorelai and Percy attempted to disguise themselves and they all headed back to the Hunters Lodge.   Lee arriving first spoke with Kelger about him talking to a Celestial. Kelger warned against trusting them as his safety i unlikely considered as part of the request. He told Vazulo there were some ruins nearby in the Abandon but he didn't know anything more then that they existed. Vazulo got a dose of whatever drugs Grizzle had been using from Kelger.   the others arrived and they spoke to Kelger about what happened without any clear details. Vazulo gave the other the silent treatment, only speaking with Cairn. Percy was scolded forgoing off on his own and he promised not to do it again.   Kinoko and Vazulo bonded before Cairn explained that since they were identified and the demons would soon start searching businesses so he would take them to the southern edge of the Refuse by taking them into him. He explained he was enchanted to be unable to leave the Refuse.   Lorelai sent to Feln, "Are you still in Barovia? Is Strahd alive? Why are they worshipping me? Have you sent people after me or the Sunsword? Hope you're well."   He answered, "I'm so glad your alive. It's been 100 years, but yes, I'm still here. Strahd is alive but controlled. You killed Strahd, what did you expect? Do you still have the Sunsword? I am prevented from sending, I can't send to you."   Lorelai asked if the lodge had anymore scrolls, which they did but they couldn't just give them away. the party rested and Cairn prepared them to be transported, warning them that he would assume his true form which was something they should avoid seeing. Vazulo refused telling them he would meet them at the edge of the Refuse. Kinoko cast Foresight on Lorelai before Cairn swallowed them and let them out at the edge of the refuse as he said he would. he also agreed to wait till Vazulo arrived in case a demon patrol came around.   Vazulo back at the lodge had not intention of following, instead planning to stay till the next morning to take the form of the dead demon guard and then try to learn about the ritual. after several minutes Kelger cam ion and saw that Vazulo was still there but the others were gone. Kelger attempt to perform his role as the head of the lodge and pass on his experience and knowledge to the young hunter. he did this by bluntly calling Vazulo plan the dumbest plan he'd ever heard thought he tried to soften that blow by following it up with Vazulo had no reason to know it was the dumbest plan ever. Kelger explained all patrols had seven identical demon all of which were some sort of copy of each other. they had some sort of connection that let them identify the other members of their patrol and that if a patrol lost any of its member it never patrolled again staying int he glory for the remainder of their lives. he explained the other guard from the patrol who's leader they killed would likely remain gaurding the southern castle for the remainder of their lives.   He encouraged Vazulo to head to the abandon to meet the others and if they wanted to talk to Zizgaban it would be complicated but he' try to help reinforcing he had more trust for Zizgaban then the Demon in Vazulo's head.   Vazulo arrived where the othere were and the party made their way along wooden planks into a mangrove forest that was the start of the Abandon.
