The were Hunters faced with a gigantic Celestila Granway as Percy collapsed in pain from losing Mudd aid blocking terrors from invading his mind.
After coming back from the shock and awe, the began questioning Granway. They learnt the following:
- Granway was here to get worship
- He freed all the other false Gods
- The original three he released he turned into the puppet Granway's they had fought.
- Orioak and the other had escaped, planeshifting away when they were breiefly freed from his mind control
- He somehow benifited from the human sacrifices, "life sustains".
- there was a tear in the real cathedral that Yuel had used to leave to another plane.
As they began to question further, Percy's spell ended freeing him from its negative effects. Coming to his senses he moved to attack Granway but was stopped byt the other Hunters.
The questioning continued.
- Granway's God had no idea he had left the prison
- He was the creation of many Gods
- The god killer was prison gaurd with no name , like most celestial.
Granway explained he had released the first three prisoners to see if the Gods would notice.He had been on guard so long neither he or the prisoner's remembered their crimes. After 100 years he had heard nothing from the gods so he released the other four prisoners, the Gods' Killer tried to stop him so he put the collar on him and used him to kill the first three prisoners before he arrived with the next four to take their place as Gods.
Lorelei tried to reach out to various justice Gods through prayer and granway heard them and told her he did not let them past.
Vazulo asked about what Yuel was after. Granway reiterated the events the party had already heard, addign she had the opportunity to ask them abotu how they gained power through prayer and didn't he didn't think Yuel was trying to becoma god though her interest seemed God related, none of the false gods seemed to have what she was looking for.
Granway told them he knew how to kill a God. this led to if he knew how to kill Yuel, which drew confusion primarily from Percy but also the others. as the questions proceeded, granway revealed the tha entity that was in yuels blod was in complete control of yuel's body and their Yuel was burried somewhere deep inside her mind. When asked how to free her would be to purifying it with radiant damage, but he had no idea what that would do to her body.
They continued to question Granway on his goals and motivations. While he was not blunt about it he implied he was out for revenge agaisnt the gods who forgot about him and he was acrewing power from his worship with the potnetail intent of killing those Gods.
Vazulo and Percy dabated interfering or not with Granway using Mudds enhanced telepathic connection.
Granway greatly altered their priorities when he infromed them that Yuel had only left a day or so before.
As the party finally left Granway cathedral to the original cathedral, Percy and lorelei had their minds altered not forgeting anything but both concluding in a world of check and balances Granway wasn't a bad guy and they actually liked him, even saying it out loud, trigger concern in Kinoko.
They heard Mudd's voice in their head. Mudd approached them and the altered Lorelei and Percy seemed to convince him that Granway was no longer an issue and he could protect the village below instead of seeking any further vengance.
Percy and Mudd, had an imaginery journey of years of friendship in mere moments with their psychic connection. through the experience Mudd became smarter and while didn't remeber their time together he remembers the strengthening of their friendship.
Mudd took back his mud and the party.
They found the tear Yuel used and on the otherside was the intense smell of blood.. As they passed through Granway healed them all.
On the other side they found themselves in s rundow slum lkarea with a river of blood running through it. ther ethey saw sickly Lion man and s mall rotund gatfish person. Wvazulo approached the catfish and started asking questions. he told them he'd seen another blue skin recently who they avoided because he was either from Hagrath or the Celetsials.
Lorelei and Kinoko investigated the river which was water mixed with blood. They inquired further with the catfhish who they leraned was named Glorm. Glorm seemed oddly focused on Lorelei despite he and the Lion man, Grizzle, identifying Vazulo as celestial in nature.
Glorm tried to make a deal with which Percy spoke over, when heheard mystery. Glorm told them he sold mystery boxes and offered his ability to identify magical items. He seemed less suspiciosu since they didn't know what he meant by Celestial and Hagrath and assumed they were much more then out of towners.
He identifed items for 10 gold and sold boxes for 5 silver. He identified the bow Vazulo got from the maze as a plus one bow. percy and lorelei bought mystery boxes. Glorm put a small pouch on top of hers. he then told them he actually like identifying things and since they bought boxes offered to identify three items for free. Kinoko's orb that Mudd gave her and the neckalce from the maze. The orb briefly poisoned him. the orb was a Contained Trilibyte, and the necklace was full neckalce of fireball. Percy had the sword he got from the maze identified which was shortsword luck blade.
Lorelei opened he mystery box and found an egg shape and textured rock. the pouch contained drugs, a powder that made people happy, like a pure dose of dopamine.
Gorm explained some of the generalities of where they were. Hagrath was on top of a mountain, an immortal demon that was stabbed on the mountain peak and was bleeding, and had been bleeding a long time. know one knew why he did it. He suggested they could go up to the "Glory" and ask but he disgouraged that since they had their celestial friend. The Demons had a war with the Celestials almost 400 years ago. and ever since any celestial attmpts to take the plane back were thwarted by the Demons. he explained the Glory was the shiny city while they were in the Refuse, a slum region that encirled the city.
Their was paranoia around the appearance of celestial so close the 400th aniversary since there is a myth that if one side held the material plane for 400 years they would have a permanent rule of the plane. They learnt he water here had been like this the whole time and that they drank, cooked, bathed, and swam in it.
The paranoia was mainly derived from fear of a massive celstial assualt before the anniversarry and that more inncoents died during th elast assualt then demon or celestials so the populace was afraid especially with the apearance of Yuel a few days earlier. yuel murdered someon in the street and drank his blood. as aresult theire had been an increase in Demon patrols of the Refuse.
Vazulo asked why they hadn't just left. They were brought back to the reality that not everyone could planeshift. Percy started to pitch Granway and the tearto the two. Glrom seeme interested in it but went to swim to stop from drying out, Grizzle showing signs of needing a fix panicked to try and sell them something. He sold them a gnarled black wooden staff that had bleonged to an adveture in a party that had arrive dand tried to frre them from demons rule. They had been killed and there body and possesions sprayed all over the refuse. Kiniko cast to detect and poisons or disease. All the local's had a disease called the Corruption of Hagrath. He eventually made a deal for 175 gold and to be let through the tear. On the other side he was enveloped in light and seemingly cleansed.
