The Chronicles of the Itharia: Session Nine

The party journeyed from the unnamed town on the 18th of Dargoth to travel to Crawn. They arrived two days later on the 20th.
  The party quickly found Taylor, the local general store owner and operator whom had indirectly hired them to deal with a cult. The party discovered the town had a strange history with faith, formerly worshiping Bahumut, then Yua, and finally now Mo Mo. After discussing some additional details about the cult, most of the party moved on to the local inn/bar. They discovered that the nature of Mo Mo was deity of “love and Gifts” and that some of the the worship/ritual were of a sexual nature. The Gnome owner of thin was a bit bashful and his dwarven maid seemed less impressed with the party until she discovered they were not worshipers of Mo Mo.
  Ranrus took some time breaking down a massive cauldron they had bought. The others eventually headed into the church, very cautiously. They soon discovered the space was very welcoming when a young man greeted them and showed them around. The party eventually realized the cult was not worshiping an entity called Mo Mo but Mammon, Ruler of the 3rd Circle of hell, whose Domains are lust and greed. After doing some additional investigating the party all collected in the ritual chamber with the cult leader Caruso. After a tense situation, where he suggested using Rhylee’s Aasimar blood to hasten the completion of the circle, Theren summoned a shadow blade and psychically murdered Caruso. The party scrambled to figure out how to proceed and landed on a plan of tricking the people of Crawn into thinking they’d been betrayed by Caruso and the true nature of Mo Mo/Mamon. Thus a multi hour performance with varying levels of believability and some contradicting elements the town was convinced, and many were converted to the faith of Onatar
  The party, amidst their charade, met a Bugbear named Goobin Testface, a slow talking, calm individual, decked out with weapons and armor. The party went to the bar that evening where they talked at length with Goobin. They talked about Krata, told him about Maple Swamp and Ogden, they asked if he’d see any undead, how he felt about Krata. He asked what he did for work, who he was working for and who he was looking for. All they got from this was he was hired by some raider and he was looking for some people and he thought he was getting close.
  Eventually in attempt to get more information, the party got him drunk, but he passed out and when awoken he decided bed was a good decision. Riley, attempted to follow him but on reaching the hall Goobin had disappeared.
  The party out of fear that Goobin’s presumed target may be one of them, slept together in the same room.
  The next morning the party went to Taylor for payment and with marginal debate received full payment.
