The Chronicles of the Itharia: Session Fifty-six

General Summary

The party got on the boat and prepared to leave. Ranrus and Theren went back into town and bought spell components from the Stock and Broker, from Mrs. Hornhard. Ranrus paid for their voyage and the party, minus Rhy went to sleep. Rhy stayed up, finishing the tome of the Jester locking it for 3 days. The next day they departed Greytide around noon.   The party talked to Tholly about how to get to Ironhead. He encouraged them not to do the boring thing and going where they might fight giants. Tholly explained, he likes remind the giants they lost to the dragons. The party mentioned some of them were from other planes which led to a discussion of where they were from and where they had been. Tholly hadn't heard of Theren or Ranrus's planes. Tholly had been to a fey wild, the nine hells, and a few other planes he didn't catch the names of (he wasn't there long enough to find out). He asked the party if they would help him kill Mamon. After a middling response based on if they could take Mamon, he suggested they wait to see how they handled three to four to eight Fire Giants. The party explored the ship. Amidst conversation Ranrus implied the ship may be weak only to seemingly be attacked by the ship itself.   The party went to their rooms where they identified another tarot card, "Smite" and re-piled the cards and identified them as . . . . . . . . . . . Rise . . . Gamble . . . . . . Friend . . Laughter Smite . Ranrus, curios about the ship tried to identify it, getting nothing but he cast detect magic and discovered a boat load of magic beneath him.   The party headed downstairs and discovered a training area and 5 doors. One pink opaque glass door led to Cassiopeia's room. One room was barren with just a bed and a heavily locked chest. Another bedroom was similar to the last but its chest had no visible lock and there was a dresser with a statuette of Ioun on top. The next room was a large bedroom with a large fur pelt blanket and a greatsword on the dresser. At the end of the hall were a set of double doors leading to a laboratory. inside the little goblin girl they saw on deck was surrounded by beaker and pots and smoking jars. She was cutting up tentacles when the party introduced themselves. She remembered them as Ren, Russ, Rye, and Lee. she mentioned her past on the street and her teacher, Abotin Heathwell, whom she learned magic from as Tholly could not teach her. She thinks she's thirteen and is very dedicated to exploration, learning, and helping Tholly. She explained the ship was alive, a he, and when it caught fire could put its self out. Upon learning the party knew about dragons she askedwhat kind of things they knew and they showed her the scroll of the King of the Dragons. She read it and excited, ran out with it up to the captains quarters where she showed it to Tholly. He was excited by the knowledge of the appearance of the King of the Dragons. in the extended discussion it came out Tholly had met a few dragons on the plane including a very old gold dragon with a namepotentially from the calendar. Tholly noticed it was late and went to releave his first mate. Theren went to talk to the ship and played music for it. Ranrus went to sleep. Rhy went to get rum and sat by herself. Lee joined her and the two discussed what happened in Snowbright . They talked about Auna, potential partners, the concern of Rhy hurting her partners, and the conundrum that Moonfolk who could resist her radiance were also the least likely to commit to her. Lee suggested Tholly as he seemed interested maybe, though Cassiopia made it complicated and neither really knew what he had meant earlier in the day. The two sat together drinking before Tholly came by just to check and make sure they were careful because drinking and the edge of boats rarely mixed well, and not to stay up too late, he wanted them to be there to fight in the morning if they ran into Fire Giants. The party went to sleep for the first night on the high sea's.   Date 23-24th of Gorim
