Hunt for Yuel: Session 44, Barovia or Bust.

The Hunters having defeated Claus focused on there next step, getting to Barovia to help Kinoko. After much back and forth between Eria's Infinitne Sea and Danadra, and many sendings, the party returned to Valnar to get Feeloe's help.   The paryt learnt what had transpired to cause the strange sendings from Feeloe as well as Feeloe and Valnars past.   Feeloe suggested the cube may have somethign to do with a plane of Beshaba the goddes of bad luck, but the party, now calling them selves the Chaos Crew, stayed focused on Barovia. finally having all the pieces required to go to barovia the party planeshifted their but before they reached the mist they were attack by strange invisble hands. Depiste this attack they appear to safely arrive on Barovia.

Having defeated Claustaupha, the island returned to normal and all that remained of Claus was a destroyed humanoid and his mask, which was still perfectly pristine. Percy got treated while Kinoko started discussing what had happened with the Fae. She learnt the Hunter's and Claus had been gone for days and had appeared just moment after each other. Vazulo, Percy, and Lorelei attempted to break the mask, but it was completely unscathed. Vazulo put the mask in his bag of holding. Kinoko examined claus's host body and determined it was male, and at least part Human. Percy tried to get attention of those on the island, offering to send them through to Danandra. Frezore, the Dwarf blacksmith, and Kurt Inglestien, the Gnome magic item shopkeep, came out with what appeared to be all their belongings in packs and back of holding, ready to travel and service a new world. Vazulo told the two to reach out to Athriel. He also described they would eventually get them to the plane of Moda and Granway. Vazulo’s sporadic details of Danandra did not paint a peaceful or safe picture. Despite this, both seemed more bothered or scared by the Temple of Infinite Truth. Vazulo ended up going through with them to talk to Athriel. When Athriel appeared, he was no longer in his armor but in more diplomatic attire, though he did still carry a sword. Vazulo gave a quick description of the events from the sea to Athriel and showed him his tattoos. Athriel quickly spoke with the two refugees. Athriel was most interested in Frezore. Athriel teleported away with the two. Vazulo tried to ask about the Zizgaban investigation, but Athriel was gone. He chose to leave a note instead, that was at first addressed to Athriel but considering Zizgaban imprisoned and used Athriel for hundreds of years, he chose to adress it to Cairn, forgetting that Cairn could not leave the Refuse, so Athriel would have to deliver it. Vazulo took this brief moment to message Feeloe with his Sixsix sending stone to threaten Feeloe more about hurting Sixsix. Surprisingly Sixsix responded, questioning Vazulo threatening one of the most powerful people he had ever met and for Vazulo to tell him if they needed a pickup. Vazulo, thrown off, stole Percy's Feeloe sending stone and sent to Feeloe to communicate to Sixsix that they were in the plane with the lost sea where time is messed up. He also asked if Feeloe knew Claustaupha, the Flower of Madness dude. Feeloe was confused about the "strange time" and would add Claustaupha to his list of research. Percy, realizing Vazulo had stolen his sending stone, suplexed Vazulo and the two were trapped in a grapple through the tear. On the island Kinoko and Lorelei were resting and keeping tabs on the island. The lizard folk seemed to be loading onto the boat. The man who ran the inn, Swule approached the sentient portal and placed his hand on the arch way as the face appeared in the portal. Lorelei reading the faces lips could tell it said, "are you sure your ready, it’s been a very long time since we did our job". A moment later Swule faded away. Lorelei approached the gate and spoke to it learning its purpose was to sheperd those seaking the infinite truth and so it would not assit them getting anywhere as that not why they came to the island. It wasn't completely clear, but Claus had somehow enslaved the gate to acheive its previous behaviour. The portal explained as it understood, there were other ways off the plane but didn't know where. Eria would lead them to them if she wanted them to find them. Kinoko and Lorelei discussed where to go next and were focused on Barovia, and getting to the first Feywild and the Mother Tree. The gate was not an option and so Lorelei assumed she'd need to call in the favour with Feln the Messnger had hinted at. Having failed with the gate, Kinoko and Lorelai returned to the betting booth and started trying to help repair it with the Archfey. Percy and Vazulo, still fighting, decided to try and get Vazulo's plane shift back and headed out of the temple. stumbling down a set of stairs. They went outside and set up a camp and waited for night. When night fell, percy and Vazulo learnt Danandra didn't have a moon but three, one large one and two samller ones that orbit it. Vazulo meditated and regained his planeshift. Lorelei and Kinoko rested in the hotel in the sea before crossing into Danandra to send to Feln. Before they left they stopped to speak with the the Archfey. The Archfey were leaving, changing their safes into charms and reminding Kinoko and Lorelei that they could only be freed from the sea once Rasephar/Tariel were killed. The party regathered at Percy and Vazulo's campsite on Danandra. The party discussed where to go next and seemed to arrive on Barovia to facilitate access to the first Feywild. Even with Vazulo’s natural ability to planeshift Barovia’s defences would likely be too high to simply planeshift in. Vazulo, since it was a new day, sent to Sixsix, telling him they were in the past now at that they were trying to go to Barovia and had means to pay his debt. Sixsix replied, mid Vazulo sentence that he was confused why he would go to a Domain of Dread, they had been at the same time, and he was interested in whatever could repay the debt. Vazulo went to steal Percy's sending stone again and Percy did not notice. Vazulo sent on Feeloe's stone, explaining it was Claustaupha’s mask, and that Destiny told them to go to Barovia. Feeloe responded saying he had passed the message to Sixsix. Feeloe followed up greatly confused by the mention of a being named Destiny and asked if he could be of any direct help to them. Vazulo snuck Feeloe’s stone back onto Percy. Percy received a sending from Feeloe. “I don't know what’s going on, sending through time is very hard, please go where you were yesterday.” Vazulo and Percy returned to the sea to receive sendings from Feeloe in his time. Percy tried to send with his stone to let Feeloe know they were back in the sea, but it had been used. Percy was just confused, still oblivious to Vazulo’s theft. Soon after Feeloe sent to them again. Feeloe confirmed Sixsix and the Celestial were fine, Alucard had been back a few times, things were safe there again, and Sixsix could collect them if they were alligned in time. Percy explained their goal to get to Barovia and the Mother Tree, and saving Lorelei and Kinoko's homes. Feeloe acknowledged that getting to Barovia would be hard. Feeloe assumed since they were looking into Barovia they must have found Yuel. Percy explained this was not the case, but a God named Destiny had given them a means to follow Yuel, in the form of a cube that they didn't know what it did. Feeloe was still very confused especialy about the God named Destiny that controlled destiny. Feeloe offered to help however he could, he felt like he owed them. Lorelei went back to Danandra and sent to feln. "My party needs to come to Barovia, to get to the sister Feywild, can you pick me up. How to facilitate?" "Lorelei, I sent someone looking for you, I know he's alive, but I can't reach him, but he can bring you here."   Lorelei summoned Athriel and asked him if he could sense people plane shifting. He did know about the Domains of Dread, there were few that could traverse the mist withou issue, one of which is Vastani. There have been Vistani on Danandra, but he wasn't sure if there were any currently. He also did not know if he had a sixth sense and Lorelei described, he surmised his sensing them coming in and out of the tear had to do with the Celestial temple. Lorelei, believing the bounty hunters had been sent by Feln, assumed they were likely Vistani. Lorelei asked Athriel to investigate the Refuse for the sign of any Vestani. Athriel returned with a long-bearded Gnome. He was a Vistani, but did not have the power to plane shift. To get them throught the mists he would require someone who could cast plane shift, and a tuning fork tuned to Barovia. They could also summon the Mists, but that would require something morally grey. The Gnome was from Arak (Sithicus), Lord Soth’s Domain of Dread. Lorelei mentioned that she had killed Strahd, and the Gnome expressed confusion. He thought the Dark Powers stopped the Lords from dying or brought them back to life. Athriel teleported the party back to the Refuse leaving them in front of the hunter’s hall. Everyone started looking for tuning forks and people from Barovia. Kelger Talord, the Dawrf leader of the Danandra hunter’s hall approached them and after a quick update he had the Fire Keeper looking for tuning forks and introduced them to a member of the hall who had been a member of the Markov Hunt. The Human hunter, whose family was killed by the one of Markov's monsters, didn't have anything helpful to add except to discourage them from going to Barovia. He mentioned how this hall had no records of tears since they had no keys. Lorelei and Percy decided to give Kelger their extra key. The Fire Keeper gave them three blank tuning forks and an elderly Dwarven wizard hunter confrimed you could potentially tune off of an item. Vazulo who had gained an abnormal amount of confidendc in his arcane knowledge tried to use Lorelei's crossbow to attune the forks to Barovia. Sadly, he failed. The party tried to find a tuning fork on Danandra but after a day of investigation they had nothing to show for it. They returned to the Infinite Sea and Vazulo plane shifted them to Feeloe's tower. They appeared in Feeloe's lab and Vazulo in a brief moment of forgetfulness saw Feeloe's purple feathers and thought he must have been visited by Spearadear. Feeloe quickly said no with concern and confusion in his voice and the party noticed two others in the lab with similar expressions: Simithin and a green skinned Eleven woman. The trio seemed focused on why Vazulo expected Spearadear to have been there or done something there. Simithin and the Elf, Truth, introduced themsleves to the whole of the party. Truth approached Vazulo after he whispered a loud lie about Simithin. She began pointing out what in others would be insecurites or doubt in others, but Vazulo's confidence was overwhelming. Truth mentioned thinking there couldn't be anyone worse than Dante. Vazulo asked about Turin and was told he was recovering from a long period of drinking but was in the tower. As they started to talk Feeloe, without warning, looked up and to his left before snarling "Yes I noticed it to, now shut up."   Kinoko looked where it seemed Feeloe had been looking but even with her true sight she couldn't see anything there. Vazulo asked Oedric what he saw, and Oedric was mostly overwhelmed by the presence of "all three of them." Percy had never seen Feeloe behave like this. Vazulo inquired about what happened to Sixsix and learnt Feeloe had used him and the other Celestial as test subjects to see if other extra planar beings could be sent away by being put in a similar state. Feeloe had agreed on fair compensation with Sixsix and had paid him. Vazulo wanted Feeloe to pay his debt but that wasn't an option, but feeloe did wonder how much the debt was as Sixsix had mentioned it several times. Vazulo offered Sixsix Claus's mask to pay of some of the debt, but Sixsix said it covered the debt. Percy refocused on what had happened to change Feeloe's behaviour in the recent sendings, specifically suspicious of the other Weavers. Before Feeloe could answer, Vazulo asked if it had anything to do with the Chosen of Spearadear and her party. Faced with these questions Feeloe began to describe what had transpired since last they saw him and the many mnay discoveries he and the others had made. The party interrupted regularly derailing the story. They learnt that Weavers while typically had to be arcanists, they realy only required the ability to cast greater magic, which Simithin could do. Feeloe continued that he had sent the other party to kill Log in the Crags to repay a debt. Weavers aren't supposed to enforce their will on the people of Valnar because their overwhelming power would essentially steal their freedom. but in the case of the Crags the necessary evil of a crime lord running the city was no longer necessary and having hired adventurers deal with thte issue was enough of a loophole for Feeloe. Feeloe had assisted that party in some exploration of the plane that led to a series of events that led Feeloe to learn something about himself that he didn't want to beleive. Feeloe showed Percy and Vazulo a pair of books, both with the same handwriting but one far to old to have bene written by Feeloe. Feeloe discovered he was older then Valnar. He went on to explain that the the name Feeloe was given to the arcanist raised in Feeloe's Tower. Feeloe grew up beleieving he was born, chosen to replace the previous Feeloe and raised in the tower. In actuality he was every Feeloe there had ever been. There was spell on him to revers time on his body, steal two adults and convince them he was their child and raise him in the tower. Vazulo realized this must mean Feeloe was exponentially more powerful than the other Weavers and gave truth a side eye. Truth responded that she was from the same time as Feeloe and had been reincarnating since then. Simithin was also from the same time but died there, went to the nine hells lost his memories, became and Arch Devil, came back and then had got all his memories back. Vazulo hearing this told Simithin he needed his help to get to the nine hells, which Simithin agreed to. Feeloe continued, explaing that Valnar used to be a plane called Wanya. Vazuolo remember this was the name of the plane he had migrated to in his other memory. Vazulo asked what happened to all the moonfolk on Wanya. Feeloe answered there had never been Moonfolk on Wanya. Feeloe looked at the memory Destiny had given Vazulo and was fascinated, while Vazulo continued to wonder what Feeloe had done with his Moonfolk. Feelo explained Vazulo was from more the 1000 years in the future and Wanya became Valnar tens of thousands of years ago. As Feeloe finished making the point that Vazulo's memory didn't make sense, Feeloe cringed and Truth and Simithin rushed over to help him. Feeloe steadied himself and said, “he’s very excited and agitated.” The party was confused and had more questions but Feeloe focused on continuing to explain is some semblance of order. Wanya had been at constant war due to powerful weapons that contained things like Demons, Devils, Celestials, forgotten or dead Gods etc. Feeloe, Simithin, and Truth had formed an organization back then to try and end the fighting. Their goal had been to destroy or get rid of all the weapons. Vazulo interrupted assuming these weapons were turned into dinosaurs. feelow corrected and explained the dinosaurs were the children of Tiamat. Vazulo added he had met children of the “God of Words”. Feeloe trying to get back on track quickly said he had been made aware of Dor it was one of his research tasks from Rhy. Vazulo continued tell the room that Dor was the remnant of the original God. Again, Feeloe seemed to address someone else, this time saying “if you don’t shut up, I’ll kill us both” which seemed to calm Feeloe, though it did not calm anyone else. Feeloe started to ramble again but refocused on the story. Kinoko started to make tea and truth assisted her. Feeloe explained Simithin had been their leader and to get enough power to cast a spell that could destroy these powerful objects and beings he sold his soul to four demonic entities, abyssal beasts as well as to Tiamat. By selling his soul to two parties neither could claim it and he was able to gain immense power. This did have unintended side effects. Vazulo intereupted again as kinoko gave Feeloe some tea and a different voice then Feeloe said thank you. Vazulo asked if there were two people in his head. This drew a furious damnd for Vazulo to shut up from truth and an dcalm yes from semithin. Percy asked if their were tow people in their heads. Semithin explaine he had had tow theat were becoming one, his archdevil memories with no elven memories, and the self that was everything before he died. The two were becoming one but it was a lengthy process. Truth on the other hand, was her current self, but could access the memories of everyone of her previous lives. Percy realized what most likely gave Feeloe the subconscious desire to help percy in particular. Feeloe began to tell the story again, the group discovered how to achieve greater magic, he devolped a relationship with Mystra, the Goddess of Magic. Simithin cast the greater magic then let him turn the sky into a scrying eye allowing their organization to intervene in all night combats and effectively ending any fighting after dark. Feeloe started learning to manipulate time, and Truth, or Keani, focused on the power of the spirit or the soul. As a result of Simithin deal, a tear formed in the sky above Wanya that connected to Tiamat’s prison, she could not come through, but she birthed five dragons. Meanwhile Valnari wizards learned of the abyssal beasts and started making deals with them eventually summoning them only to have the for monsters kill their summoners. Now there were 9 additional powerful forces rampaging and influencing Wanya. The plan changed on how to end the destruction and save Wanya, especially since the weave was beginning to fray. Simithin developed a spell called greater banishing, which would send away every entity not from Wanya, the beast, the dragons, the power sources of the weapons, as well as three tarrasques that were summoned to make things all the worse. Simithin was casting the spell but before it resolved Spearadear appeared and stopped him. Around the same time Keani had managed to imprison the abyssal beasts with a greater magic of her own. With them imprisoned the debt of Simithin soul could be collected and Simithin was sent to the nine hells. Keani died soon after succumbing to wounds sustained in her battle with the abyssal beasts. In mourning at the loss of both his mortal partners, Feeloe tried to cast a massive time shifting spell to reverse time to before Simithin made his deal, now that they new how to achieve greater magic. This spell caused Mystra physical pain as the weave was barely being held together. Rather than risking harming his love, Feeloe released the spell. This explosion of magic decimated the plane and Feeloe froze time, leaving just he and Mystra to debate and discuss what to do next. Eventually the ancient Feeloe release the time freeze. He was the first Weaver able to push and pull the weave as he saw fit. The plane became more populated as Gods returned and seeded Valnar with their creations. Toward the end of the war a spell had been cast to weaken the Dragons pulling their elemental power from them creating immensely powerful elementals and their bodys became the 5 seemingly immortal titan dinosaurs. The ancient Feeloe kept the weave safe, created the Weavers, kept the tarrasques asleep, and created his cycle of reversing time. Feeloe began to discover this because Rhylee St. Claire and her party had to make a deal with an abyssal beast, and the beast recognized him. This triggered a spiral of realizing the matching hand writing that he had somehow ignored his whole life. He had to confront that other versions of himself were willing to do horrible monstrous things. He became obsessed with helping Rhylee st. Claire with her issue, unknowilngly in part to protect her from a version of himself that still existed, the ancient version of himself. Feeloe explained unlike Keani and Simithin his two selves were distinct, intentionally sperated and did not agree on very important things. Modern Feeloe did not have the emotional attachment to Mystra, Keani, and Simithin and he had no desire to destroy Valnar and all its people just to get them back. Feeloe explained he had no intent to continue the cycle and planned to fully die at the end of his life. Feeloe explained he could no longer leave Valnar without being in danger of punishment of Spearadear. Simithin explained she was a hypocrite having stopped him from returning all the foreign beings who had been ripped from their places for some sort of unknown reason. Vazulo was frustrated at this, defending her vehemently, a fact that confused Feeloe. Percy expanded some of it had to do with resentment for not being chosen. Percy asked about the other party and where they stood with them. Feeloe explained there wasn’t a direct issue. But Rhy could and did close tears. Rhy had closed the tear to the Nine Hells in the sky as well as the tear that started their pursuit of Yuel. Feeloe having caught them up turned his attention to what kicked of the explanation, that both he and the ancient Feeloe had sensed the cube. Now it was the parties turn to tell a story. They explained Dor, their origin as the God of Creation and the aspects of Dor, specifically Destiny who had been trapped and they had freed and how Destiny made the cube to help them follow Yuel. Feeloe was confused that they were talking about an entity and not a “child of Destiny”. Truth left the room silently and Kinoko followed her. Feeloe started to wrap his head around the massive burst of information he had received. Feeloe disparaged Gods in general and Vazulo once again defended Spearadear. Sixsix was confused since he had taught Vazulo the ritual to free their plane shifting from Spearadear limitations. Feeloe was surprised by the ancient Feeloe’s silence at all this new information. Vazulo clarified the nature of the vision he showed being an alternate timeline. Feeloe explained to the ancient Feeloe that the vision was not a sign of him succeeding because the gods succeed on imprisoning Destiny. To achieve that vision, they were better off killing all the Gods that imprisoned Destiny. The ancient Feeloe seemed to suggest going to the temple and trying the same thing Claus had. The party informed them of this previous failure and quelled that thought. Vazulo asked about Alucard and learnt that Selictar had enhanced the protections around his chamber and Alucard had given up gaining entry. Vazulo mentioned the Whispering One’s Messenger and his visions which included that at somepoint researching Yuel’s blood would be fruitless and there would only be one way left to save her. Feeloe was intrigued they met someone affiliated with the Whispering One. Percy asked about the “Bread party”, Feeloe told them that they were back on their Ithica dealing with their problems. Feeloe refocused on the parties goal of getting to Barovia. Feeloe had enough tuning forks and skill he would be able to make the fork using Lorelei’s crossbow. Meanwhile Truth turned to face Kinoko and confronted her about her keeping her love secret. Kinoko panicked and mentioned Keani. Kenai apologized for Truth’s cold insightfulness. She then touched Kinoko’s chest and touched her soul. Kinoko was momentarily ovewerwhelemed with a sensation she had never felt before. Keani explained, kinoko had a kind and warm soul but she was hurting it by living this lie. Keani then asked what it was Kinoko had be following her to talk to her about especially since it was a bad idea to sneak up on someone who could snap a person soul like a twig. Kinoko turned into a wolf spider and ran back to the lab and climbed on to the ceiling. The others had been recounting the fight with Claus and Vazulo got clarification about the mask and the debt. Sixsix just said being a magic possession of an Aberration from the Astral Sea gave it a large number of potential buyers. Feeloe asked Simithin to confirm that the terrified Kinoko still had a soul, confusing the party. Simithin confirm it was still there and that even if it wasn’t she’d be in no danger. Feeloe asked if they could inspect the cube, since the party were in the presence of some of the most skilled magic users they could ever find. Kinoko stayed a spider for some time. In between Simithin got a tunning fork for Vazulo to the 6th layer of hell. Vazulo told Simithin that Oedric was a Devil. Simithin gave Vazulo some guidelines for navigating the 6th layer of hell. Simithin also told Vazulo that they had some knowledge of the future and sometime in the future Spearadear will become something Called the Red Lady and Coraloon became hellish afterlives for all Moonfolk. So, if he could avoid causing her unnecessary stress. He warned if they ended up in the future with there use of tears to be careful when reaching out to Spearadear He also explained he had a fondness to the other party for restoring his memories and corrected Percy in that the “bread” party called themselves the Realm Walkers. This caused Vazulo to push Percy for coming up with a name for their party. In discussing the perceived conflict with the Realm Walkers Simithin explained that the Realm Walkers were expected to contribute in them possibly killing Feeloe, and the Hunters would not have been as helpful. Keani returned and Vazulo noticed she was wearing her wedding ring on the wrong finger. Keani explained they were courting so she wasn’t wearing it as a wedding ring. Percy had a similar conversation with Simithin, learning that it was complicated as they courted each other. Vazulo talked to Feeloe about cleansing the Hagrath blood water. Vazulo quickly cast a spell purifying it. he made a simulacrum that started making scroll of the spell he created to cleanse the wate. Kinoko did eventually transform and pass Feeloe the cubes. Feeloe, Keani, Simithin, and Percy cast identify on the cube. All getting nothing. Despite that they could all tell it was powerful and magical. Sixsix mentioned Destiny was like luck. This meant something to Feeloe. He went on to explain that since identify was telling them it was nothing this meant who ever made it wanted it to identify as nothing, this was intentional. Feeloe asked the party a lot of questions and seemed to be pondering a line of thought. Feeloe went on to explain that he only knew of one tear left on Valnar, he had determined where it went and it leads to a plane associated with Beshaba, the Goddess of Bad Luck. Feeloe only learnt this about a minute before Vazulo reached out. Feeloe surmised destiny was guiding them somewhere with the cubes as the trigger and less of something to be used. The party was confused by Feeloe’s focus on this plane, they decided to continue to Barovia and that returning to Beshaba’s plane could wait. The cubes were returned to Kinoko. Percy asked Feeloe why the Mother Tree was a threat to Kinoko’s home. The discussion was convoluted, and was slowly confusing everyone, as to why they were going to Barovia and the first fey wild Percy came up with the idea of call the party the Chaos Crew. Kinoko asked Lorelei to talk, and they head down the staircase and ended up in the library. Percy informed Vazulo that Kinoko was in love with Lorelei, explaining the foresight spell, and told him to keep it secret. In the library Kinoko and Lorelei had a weird and intense conversation. Kinoko told Lorelei the thing that the messenger said to protect was Lorelei, and after more confusion she told Lorelei that she loved her. Lorelei didn’t understand. The two had a brief heart to heart about Lorelei and Kinoko’s feelings. They eventually ran out of things to say and returned to the others. The Chaos Crew started to finish up their last bunch of questions. Feeloe explained Hagrath’s armor. The amror was connected to Hagrath’s soul. As Vazulo fought he was feeding Hagrath. Truth could reset the effect but could not purify the armor. Vazulo determined there was a long way before the bad effect would occur. Feeloe’s simulacrum created 10 scrolls for the puritfication spell and the real Feeloe gave a sending stone to be given to Athriel. The Chaos Crew returned to Danandra via the Infinite Sea, delivered the scrolls and the stone to Athriel. Kinoko cast foresight on Lorelei and the two blushed awkwardly before Kinoko plane shifted the party and the Gnome using the tuning fork to Barovia. Before they reached the mist something strange happened. Hands started to wrap around them. Hundreds of voices whispered in their ears that they couldn’t go yet, it would break everything, the others had already been there, it’s too soon, this isn’t the way it’s supposed to be, it shouldn’t happen like this, we have to fix it. As the hands let go, they were faced with a wall of mist that slowly disappeared, and the party appeared in the mountains that Lorelei immediately recognized as the mountain range in which the Amber Temple resided.
