Hunt for Yuel: Session 27

The party returned to the remains of angel, trying to contact Petonia but failed. They discovered the Dragon had enchanted the remains to prevent the angel from being revived. They tried to disenchant it but failed.   Retutning to the boats, Vazulo burned the boat that he assumed was his sisters.   Traveling back up the river the Hunters decided not to traverse the mangrove forest again and instead follow the river.   After labouring, even with Kinoko turning into a bird to help pull, they met a boat of fisherman who showed them how to get a crocodile to pull them.   After several hors the arrived in a port in the refuse. Two drunk fisherman approached them and after trying to buy relic off the party to sell to Hagrath, they party got directions to the southern crossing i to the glory and Zizgaban’s castle.   On the way the party realized they’d misunderstood Yuel when she’d been discussing time. Yuel had likely only been traveling as long as she been gone from Valnar.   The party arrived at the southern border crossing and with some quick disguising gain permission to approach the castle at the gate, Lorelei introduced Vazulo(who without full knowledge disguised himself as a fallen Valkyrie) as Angel, lieutenant of Glaysia. The Demon was sure Zizgaban would want to meet an emissary of the Nine Hells. He entered a guard building with large open windows to communicate with the castle. Inside sitting behind a desk sitting presumably in a chair was a large glowing blue skinned humanoid. He was a Planetar named Athriel who had been scentenced ten thousand years hard labour and been given this lie detection position for good behaviour. He spoke with a great deal of sarcasm it seemed or that despite appearance this situation was significantly more desirable then hard labour as it turned out he could also bot tell lies. Athriel out the party as lying about being connected to Glaysia. The party was still granted permission to enter to meet with Zizgaban, but Vazulo, Percy, and Lorelei were mostly disarmed (Kinoko was wild shaped into a spider earing as usual) though Lorelei retained Moulder and her de-bladed guns.   The party were escorted to the fifth floor of the castles main building to the small chamber where they met Zizgaban. The party started to ask him questions discussing the situation on Danandra. Vazulo confirmed that Yuel was now Hagrath’s honoured guest,which Zizgaban was happy to hear and sent a demon to confirm. The party suspected Zizgaban might be annoyedat nit being informed of all of Hagrath’s plans. Zizgaban offered his guest quarters as well as, after the request by Lorelei, to have some come cleanse her of her curse.   Vazulo pushed harder on how Zizgaban felt about Hagrath after Zizgaban referred to Hagrath as a truthful man and seemed to not like that. He started to refer to Hagrath, his lord as “He who is sat on the throne” and that he loved and was loyal to who was say on the throne.   They learnt there was a throne in the Demon realm but the throne is mostly metaphorical with the title, Hagrath had begrudgingly fought for the position, and the Human souls turned into demon mostly became smaller chittering demons they had just met.   “Mongrels” could not return to the Demon realm but the other’s could. In the past Demons had consumed the souls in the past as they were delicious and made them more powerful. He was unsure what the Celestials did with the souls.   They talked about Hagrath’s blood, the ritual, and the celestial attacks, not really learning anything new except the Demons were forbidden from consuming the blood and it was unclear if it made anyone more powerful. The demon populations were primarily in the Glory’s five castles.   Zizgaban started to wrap up their conversation. Lorelai asked about shops in the glory to which he offered to let them visit when Vazulo’s appearance was not so attention seeking.   Vazulo offered to play a game of carp with Zizgaban and he accepted.   Lorelei with Kinoko on her ear headed down to meet the ritual master who cleansed Lorelei of her cursed blood and confiscated her guns.   Vazulo lost two games in a row. Zizgaban suggested placing a bet on the game. Zizgaban asked for Vazulo or percy’s soul. Percy suggested various things they could get from him.   Eventually the deal was struck, the next day after Vazulo practiced they’d play best two out of three Percy’s soul for Athriel.   The party were shown to their rooms in the early evening. Before they settled in they went to see Athriel. They informed him of the bet.   Lorelei asked about what the Celestials did with the souls, most were sent to their Gods afterlife, a very few were converted to Celestials, and some were consumed. The 400 souls trapped on Danadra, if they went to the celestial plane would take time to find new homes leaving them vulnerable to consumption.   Vazulo stayed up learning carp from the celestial.
