Deep in the Underdark: Session 2

The party searched the remaining rooms and found coins with a strange mint, cups with different Dwarven runes, an acolytes journal describing the cleansing of heat and cold before entering the Chamber of Nianbra. There was no mention of a plant. Rhy also found a fancy lighter.   Dusk investigated the stairs headed down. They were incredibly steep, hot, and surrounded by a bubbling sound that the party concluded was most likely magma. Proceeding down they found a long dark hallway and one door leading a personal quarters with a glass ceiling, above which was molten lava. Inside, aside form normal furnishings, was a massive crystal ball on a table and an organ whose pipes went through the ceiling of glass into the lava above. Mariela determined the organ was magical and began to play it. As she played the room was repeatedly darkened by something swimming through the lava above. Lastly they discovered placing fire on the crystal ball darkened the glass ceiling. The party proceeded down the hall into a massive chamber with two stone bridges across a river of lava. Some of the party crossed the bridge and approached a strange black pool surrounded by six candelabras. As they neared it the black liquid in the pool began to bubble. As the bubbling got more violent a massive golden worm construct leapt from the river between the two bridges landing amongst the party and attacked. Animated globs of molten lava crawled up from the river the walls and floor had crumble away. The construct was eventually banished and in the moment of reprieve some of the party cleaned up the remaining lava and some of the party investigated the pool. Sithala discovered something strange about the pool and lit the candles of one of candelabra and the pools level lowered. Rhy also quickly lit one of the candelabra's with the lighter she'd found.
