Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 7
General Summary
Theren died and returned to the endless space, there they were met by Raven Queen, who was curious about them. Theren asked where the Raven Queen would take them when they died, to which the Raven Queen implied Theren's Half-elf nature had not affect on where they would be taken but that they had no faith so they had no god plane to be taken to. After the brief exchange, Yua arrived, grounding Theren back with their senses. Respectfully the Raven Queen left, no soul in hand and left Theren with Yua. Theren implied a desire to become Yua's chosen only for Yua to explain she already had a chosen and being a chosen was a life long duty, one that ended only with death. Theren asked about Mutta and Yua made clear her awareness that Theren wasn't supposed to be talking about him. When asked if Mutta was Yua's chosen she replied "I don't mix family and business." As Ranrus completed his spell Yua flipped her hand and sent Theren on their way. Yua mouthed something silently at Theren as they returned to life.
The party moved into the stands to watch the championship fight. The fight was between Vareneth of Whispers from Sunlight Union House and Chris Goldsun, a seemingly run of the mill Human not dressed for the the cold.
The party split up to sit with different friends in the stands. Lee sat with Nher Dest and learnt Varenth had defeated Arthur Phoenix-Heart about a year ago for the title and the current match was the result of a disagreement in a bar on the east side of Snowbright. Rhy and the others sat with the twins, Oula and Auna. Rhy tried to start a conversation with Auna who kept redirecting the conversation the fight. The match was surprisingly quick and more surprisingly went to Chris, who defeated Varanenth with a resounding hay maker to the temple. As the match ended the party remained split. Lee had watched the members of Phoenix Arcania House through out the fight, identifying Arthur Phoenix-Heart and beside him an in credibly attractive masculine Human lee had never seen before. Near the end of the match Arthur had stood and left, clearly looking at Lee then the rest of the party. As the rest of the house members filtered out two of them looked panicked as they turned about looking for someone, Lee spotted the incredibly attractive Human looking up at him lower in the stands. The Human made eye contact before disappearing into the tunnel, exiting the stands. Lee followed out into the city proper and, just for a moment, lost sight of the Human, only to have the Human appear behind him. The human turned out to be Cinder wearing a magic circlet that changed him for all intensive purposes into a human. After discussing his disappointment and the party not choosing to fight his team and his mixed but mostly good feeling about their defeat of Thinabelle, he made clear he wasn't going to kill Lee. The two spoke at length and Lee learnt the nature of Ashborn birth and Cinders specifically. He explained his ability to drink, that he'd died once, his lack of friend do to that death, that no one in Phoenix Arcania House took the name Soul anymore and that he would join Lee at The Betting Poole. He asked to keep his identity secret and to refer to him as Sarasoul while in his human form.
Rhy and Auna arrived at the bar but stayed outside to have their talk. Not long into it Auna revealed she had issues with the twins joining the guild of a murderer. Rhy managed to convince her to come with her to the door of thoughts. Rhy told Auna everything they learnt about Izret and Chalaina on the way. Auna was resistant, but once faced with the door she experienced many different kinds of panic. Chalaina did not come when asked but Sasnia came, brining Izret. Sasnia threatened Auna (for hurting Rhy) before Auna unleashed her anger and contempt on Izret who took it in stride, before explaining and eventually convincing her of the truth. In the moment following the earth shattering revelations Auna stood up and started making out with Rhy. She pulled away quickly and asked to be taken back, as she was to young to be on Coraloon. Izret seeing the predicament his descendant was in passed his best advice for dealling with Moonfolk, "try to roll with it", knowing exactly the complicated situation Rhy was in.
Back on Ithica, Auna explained that she needed time and while she believed Rhy and Izret, she had a lot of emotions to process. She made clear she cared for Rhy but she didn't ever see herself becoming "monogamous" and she didn't want Rhy to pretend to be ok being "polyamorous" when she knew she wasn't. While they were "single" they could still do whatever, but that she would not force or allow Rhy to pretend to be something she wasn't. Auna planeshifted to escape after Rhy chaotically started kissing her, almost breaking her will to take the necessary time to process. Rhy gave her a sending stone which she placed on a pouch on her hip.
Theren and Ranrus entered the Betting Poole without incident. Ranrus spoke and told stories and broke bread with the locals. Theren learnt about Chris and what happened to instigate the nights championship fight, learning he was not local and had planned to just pass through town, until the dispute had held him up.
William Strahd approached Theren soon after and making out occurred. Lee and Sarasoul arrived and Ezmerlda soon joined them, taking advantage of the flowing free drinks. Sarasoul revealed that he believed all red dragons should die. Theren noticing Lee, sang him his song, prompting William to show his appreciation for both of them.
Rhy arrived soon after joining the group, she was a bit distracted by Sarasoul's stunningly attractive nature. Not long after William made clear his drunken state and moved to leave making an announcement to that end to the bar. Theren moved to join him and the two headed to the entrance. As William opened the door they were overwhelmed and the bar silenced by a single long roar followed by humanoid screams.
