Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 60

As the explosions went off, Ranrus, standing outside the initial explosion, saw the flames expanding and as they approached the others in the room the plumes of flames seemed to move to avoid them. As the flames reached Ranrus they washed over him having no effect. As the flames burnt out Ranrus began to take in the situation; Sarahsoul, Felicity, Lord Varse, Ysir, and Angus all seemed relatively unharmed. Ranrus cast healing word on Theren and Gil quickly looked to Ranrus. “They challenged me to a duel.” Ranrus responded “I don’t believe it was a duel to the death.” Theren popped up,“No, it was.” Without taking his eyes of Ranrus gill pointed in theren’s direction. One of the stars circling Gils head flew off colliding with Theren who immediately fell unconscious again. “Still only looking at ranrus, “They wanted to kill me, i’m only defending myself, permanently.” Ranrus moved between Gil and Theren and healed them again. “Then I’m calling an end to this fight.”   Moving with haste from the library the twins returned to the ballroom to see the chaotic scene laid out before them. Elyana following behind them, “Oh he's getting into it already.” Lee looked back “So your Gil is also Yua’s Gil?” Elyana simply nodded.   Rhy, hearing that Gil was associated with Yua, moved immediately to stand with Ranrus. Gil didn’t understand the interference in the agreed upon duel. Theren popping up again exchanged pleasantries with Gil whom reciprocated, but reinforced his need to kill them. Theren countered with, "But you don’t have to kill me now." Gil asked how long they needed. Theren suggested tomorrow or in a few years. Gil was more concerned with his own safety then the nature of a duel. The party tried to persuade him that he was neither there top priority or would not be assasinated. The debate continued by trying to amend the deal. Part way through Gil seemed to start yelling to the ceiling as if he was having a separate conversation.   Gil asked if Theren wanted to discuss this with Yua, to which Theren agreed. Gil said “Ok then.” and fired the remaining stars towards Theren but each star collided with the chosen in front of Theren and had no effect. Gil explained he could talk to Yua whenever, but for Theren to, they would need to die. Theren suggested they could teleport to Yua. The party asked if they had a diamond to revive Theren in that case. Gil, like a child, called for his sister, who did produce a diamond for them to use. Theren pulled out the tuning fork for Yua’s realm.   Lee asked if they were really just going to let Theren and Gil go alone. Lee was forced to join since Rhy and Ranrus thought it best not to go. Varse let them know he was also very interested and the four were plane shifted to Yua’s plane.   Ysir who had been silent for most of this looked at Rhy and Ranrus, telling them he hoped that this excursion did not go as badly as he thought it might, and then went to get a drink.   The four arrived on Yua's plane in a small octagonal room with curtains over partial door ways. Theren took the moment to ask why Gil need to specifically kill them as they would just come back. Gil was confused and asked what they meant. Theren explained their friends would bring them back, and Gil, now understanding explained he would have kill Theren's friends as well if they were going to revive them.   Theren decided in this moment, to be even more chaotic. They tried to turn into a Dragon, and started nearly crushing the others in the small room before a voice rang in the room, “Oh I didn’t make the room big enough for that." Theren reverted to their humanoid form.   Gil tried to initiate the agreement negotiations. But Yua didn’t respond. A general discussion continued. Eventually they started discussing Gils history with Yua. Normally he just talked at Yua and she can’t ignore him (and vice versa) but he believed she was ignoring him now, just because she could. Gil explained he became Yua’s chosen because he burnt down a house killing someone Yua wanted dead.   Lee tried to reach out to Yua, who quickly appeared beside him and asked if they had tea. She was surprised he had gone all the way to the Nine Hells without having tea. Yua walked to Gil and latched onto his leg like a loving clingy little sister. Yua was confused and asked if Theren still wanted to be her Chosen. Theren replied “Yes but…” and before they could finish the walls pulled back and stretched, the ceiling rose and the small room turned into a sand filled gladiatorial arena. Yua told Theren this would be their best chance. Theren explained they wanted to figure out being a Dragon and the Kings Court. Yua looked sad and asked, “So you want to stay a dragon?” She gave Gil permission to alter the deal and looked sad and kicked at the dirt. Theren asked if she wanted it to be a fair fight and Yua said if she wanted it to be fair she’d just take the Chosen powers from Gil and give them to Theren which Gill interjected she couldn’t do that, which Yua exasperatedly said she knew. Theren was confused, assuming as a God Yua could of course do this.   Yua continued to kick dirt. Gil explained “its one of the only rules she has to play by.” You explained further. “Once you choose a Chosen their your Chosen until they die and you can’t kill them.” Lee asked if they can’t just die and be revived. Yua continued to explain. Once you’re a chosen your bound to your god and so when you die you come to their plane and your theirs forever.   Lee and Theren had a dark question, did Yua like her champion? After taking a moment it appeared more like Yua was sulking, like she was upset at what could be vs a feeling of being stuck with Gil.   Yua explained Theren could come to Yua’s plane when they died. Not being a Chosen they weren’t bound to any one specific plane. Theren was excited by the prospect, since they weren’t going to the Dragon afterlife, though Yua corrected that that wasn’t necessarily the case now. But it would be if Theren became a chosen as Theren couldn’t be a Dragon if they were a Chosen.   Theren discussed meeting Mutta and and how he wouldn’t respond to Yua’s letters. Quickly Yua re-wrote the whole deal, vetoing the killing duel in exchange for Theren getting Mutta out of his cave, literally or figuratively. Theren turned to Lord Varse, who had been quietly and respectfully observing, and asked if he’d help since he knew Mutta but it must of been a very long time since he’d seen him. Lord Varse looked at theren confused. “Have I seen who? I know his name but I haven’t had the pleasure.”   Theren questioned how Varse had not met mutta. Varse explained they ran in adjacent circles, and too his knowledge they had never attended the same gatherings. Varse had made friends with Yenter, putting him slightly at odds with elements of the King's Court, having befriend one of the three outsider Dragons. By the time Lord Varse felt comfortable and had a need to reach out to Mutta directly, he was too busy defending his territory from random Dragon attacks and Mutta was meeting with Giant kings, whom varse did not want to associated with in case it drew more Dragon attacks.   Lee asked Yua about the fire in the Great Library of Kemmera. Yua was very bored by it, but did very plainly confirmed it was the Chosen of Vecna who did it and that she was incapable of tell them the name of Vecna’s Chosen, nor could Gil, as he had no idea if he’d met them. She did tell them, the Chosen of Vecna had a town, where no one had names and the town didn’t have a name, and no one remembers where it was.   Yua asked when Theren would be delivering Master Minta. Theren wasn’t sure as they need to do a few other things, including talking to Feln, but they guesstimated a month to a year.   Lee asked about their being seven Titans .   Yua explained “The Gods fought a war with the titans of Ithica. When the war ended the six Titans were punished, and I was responsible for the punishments of all the Titans.”   Yua reiterated she was a God not a titan, nor was her father. Her father created the Titans. Lee asked for a hint, and Yua responded “ I don’t know what you want me to tell you about Mutta.” Lee responded “So Mutta’s the seventh Titan.” And Yua quickly responded “No Mutta’s the King of the Dragons.” Lee was confused and looked to Varse, who acknowledged Lee wasn’t crazy.   Lee asked again if Mutta could be a Titan and King of the Dragons, or was she just keeping secrets about the seventh Titan.   Yua responded, “If your allowed secrets, then I’m allowed secrets. And so if I’m allowed secrets and I pretend I have a secret, then you’ll think I have a secret, and then you won’t know if I have a secret.”   Theren and Lee tried to figure out what Yua was trying with all this double talk, but perceiving the intent and decision making of an ancient God who parades around as a child was clearly not an easy task.   Lee tried to bargain with his secret, knowing who told him about the seventh Titan, as he wanted to know if the person who told him that was not an idiot. Before he clarified the deal, Yua answered his secondary question, telling him the Chosen of Ioun was not an idiot. Even adding they could trust her, she knew things, and was very smart. She did decide to tell them that they were very close to finishing her deck of many things.   She let them know some were in the hands of the Night Queen and several were in the hands of a devout werefolk. She also noted she would move the cards if it was to boring.   The group started to exchanged parting pleasantries, before Theren asked if she knew if the strahd s were related. Lee looked at Varse but saw no reaction. Yua touched both Theren and Lee's hands resulting in an exhilarating flow of energy as their real bodies were touched by a God restoring all their life and magical energies. Yua turned into a swarm of stingy butterfly stinging the group before flying away. With Yua passed and the issue resolved Theren plane shifted everyone to the the House of the Realms.   Meanwhile at Strahd's home Sarasoul, let the rest of the Realm Walkers know he was leaving and that the night had been a lot to process, and to let Lee know he was sorry he didn't get to say a proper goodbye and to pass the same on to Theren and to add to please not break into his house.   During his goodbye Rhy went to the kitchen to get a drink, completely drain by the nights events. When she got their she found Ysir alone staring at a dead body on the floor. The body was much bloodier than the other victims of the night. Rhy tried to comfort Ysir who calm turned to to her as she touch him and plainly said "Looks like we missed one." base dont he appearance of the blood Rhy was confident the man had been dead for quite awhile. She contacted Illia Ellia, who told Rhy she was just finishing a few things up with stoina and would send additional cleric as soon as she could. Rhy closed the man's eyes and made prayer while Ysir grabbed them both a bottle of wine, handing Rhy hers before returning to the ballroom.   Back with the others Ysir asked again where he was sleeping, he was looking for just a soft bed and a warm blanket. Ysir, Lee, and Ranrus head home. When they arrived back Ysir and Rhy headed upstairs and Ysir found the spare room confirming if that where he should be sleeping, Rhy told him sure unless he want to sleep in hers. He said sure in a less monotone way then he'd spoken most of the early morning. they both quickly made it clear they were going straight to sleep.   Theren, Lee, Varse, and Gil arrived back at the house of the realm around the same time though in the basement. Varse asked to stay the night and for their best bed chamber. theren promised to show him to Danny's room as well so they could catch up. during the conversation Varse made clear he, as a vampire had killed many people and therefore was very familiar with ghosts, even noting there were some ghost still in his castle that he specifically let remain there. Gil followed them out of the basement and the Theren and lee registered he was still there. Theren asked "does your sister care where you are?" He answered "Probably".There then asked if he stayed the night would he promise not to burn down their house?" he immediately answered "Not at all." They had brief discussion about how Gods choose Chosen who align with them, before showing him out. Gil told them they weren't the most boring people he'd ever met and that he was intrigued to see how this double Chosen adventuring party worked out. He told Theren and Lee one last piece of advice, that they should let Rhy and Ranrus know "they should decide whether to be known or be unknown and that it was a very important life choice for a chosen to make."   Lee asked what Gil chose, and he told him he was known. He reiterated they should really make a decision and that right now they were really easy to find and they were getting no benefit for it. He walked down the street and a few minutes later they heard the sound of a mailbox exploding.   Theren took some time to send to strahd while lee showed Varse to the spare room. Theren apologized for not saying goodbye and they hoped he was ok and if he wanted to talk they were there. theren felt the spell connect but there was no response just a lingering connection for nearly an hour before Strahd finally responded, "I was trying to prevent things like this."   Everyone finally made it to bed an got a much needed long rest.   Early the next morning lee went to see Varse and asked what it was he had picked up (in Yua's plane). Varse didn't know what lee was talking about. Lee noted that varse had leaned down to pick something up near his foot. Varse said he had an itch. Lee cast dispersion's ont he idea that varse itched. which varse quickly interject he had plenty of itches. Lee said he was prepared to drop it and varse got closer and asked, "drop what?" Lee was overwhelmed and they faded to black.   Rhy woke early as she always did and saw Ysir's true form of a 6'10" hornless purple Tiefling. Rhy stepped out of her room and cast sending to Tholly. she apologized explaining she was mad, his daughter did not help, that she would get the stone back eventually, and she had lots to tell him. Tholly responded, apologizing for Abigail, noting it was obviously complicated, he hoped she fount the stone soon, he didn't want to hear creepy voices, and that he looked forward to hearing everything, they had had a time. Then Rhy headed down the house to see if going to see if her brother had actually made it home last night. Lee and Varse arrived int he Common area soon after Rhy. When Ysir came down he was still very tired but wearing his complete set of armor. Lord Varse took a look outside, flinched as he approached the window. Moments later the sky became very dark but he still flinched as he approached. Under his breath he said, "Of course they did." he began to wander off when Lee told him it would be a great time to see danny, to which he responded, "Yes i need her to get her brother in law to turn of this houses stupid enchantments."   Ysir fully awake wasted no time, asking the Realm walkers if they were going to do the thing they hired him to do. Ysir wanted to get this done so that the next time they fought it could be in an arena match. Ysir and Rhy still both beleive in a 1-on-1 they were a shoe in to win. Ysir re-outlined the plan as he understood it, to go south into The Wilds, trick Eragis to cometo them, hopefully subdue him, and the drag him to Yenter so he could eat Eragis. The party generally agreed. As they double checked the details theren suggest they get a poisoin to help subdue ysir. LEarning th eparty new a "potion guy", Nher Dest ysir made the excutive decison to go there. He also let the party know he felt like he had been hired to manage and he was accepting that as his new role for no extra fees.   Before they left Lee went to give Danny the fabric he had purchased in The Underdark. Danny and varse were deep in rcatching up and reminising, lestria sat there, technically present. Danny's ghostly appearance ahd changed her arms exposed revealling long lines of purple dragon scales, her pruple eye were glowing. she herself seemed to glow with joy. she did eventually notice lee and the gourgeus fabric taking them and confirming she could just make something for Lee at her discretion.   Returining to the other Lee let Theren know that while they were in Yua's plane Lord varse had taken somehting but lee had let it go. Theren asked the bag of holding if it dropped anything and gave it a pet and it made purring noise they had never heard before.   The party made it to The Boiler Pot. Where they explained Nher Dest what they were looking for in a poison and about the target Eragis. They made sure to detail his atrocities, ancestry, and the influence of pact including one with the 6th layer of hell, so Nher knew both what to try to make and convince him he should. nher invited them all including Ysir into the back asking ysir to lock the door which he did. before the left the front ysir mentioned his suprise an the genuine friend ship they had. rhy reminded him they had friends and the to start to argue again ysir pointing out that he liekd them but he hadn't seen real conclusive examples of their friends. as theyargue theren slipped out signling to ysir that they wereleaving but it was unclear i f realized and re locked the door. in the ned only ranrus and lee went into the back which was all nher really need as he want their help to make the poison.   Theren went to make a care package for Bill.   Over the next few hours the three managed to create a poison. DC 17 Constitution Saving Throw, Single use applied to a weapon, On a fail they are stun for up to 1 minute, they can reapeat the saving throw at the end of each of their turns. On a pass they are stunned until the end of their next turn. Lee paid for the poison and a potion of Invulnerabilty for 1500 gp and Nher through in a potion of fire resistence for free. Ranrus bought a superior healing potion offered at 400 gp for 800 gp.   Nher asked them to let him know when they had killed Eragis so he didn't potentially have to morne them.   Rhy asked about somehtign that could give feather fall which ranrus was worried about, the two eventually explained over message what rhy was think since she seemed to be trying to hide it from Ysir.   She then asked about a potion of flying, he offered her the potion for 600 gp to whcih she also paid 1200 gp for.   Ranrus explained their logic was that if he had more money he could expand his inventory which an expanded inventory benefited them.   After a brief moment bonding between Ysir and Nher, Rhy and Ysir made Nher aware of their inevitable fight between the two's adventuring parties. The current party's members stil in the Boiler Pot stepped out into the midday sun while Theren was nowhere to be seen.   Date: Early hours of the 5th of Kirit, 1437 DC
