Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 51
General Summary
As the light faded Rhy slowly realized what she had become and excitedly celebrated with her brother. Maranath congratulated Rhy on her change. Maranath, realizing the tuning fork had not been dealt with and no longer planning to take the Realm Walker's memories, attempted to leave, only to be questioned by the conscious members.
Maranath was very honest, in his own way, repeatedly telling the party he couldn't or wouldn't discuss Caleroh's issue with Yua, or the relationships of the King of Dragons. He was clear that he did not think Caleroh should have the tuning fork and that the consequences of him having it would be great. He also explained if he could not convince Caleroh 100 years ago nothing would change today if he tried now. Maranath didn't believe his King would want the damage Caleroh to cause to occur. He expressed a different frustration with Yua's decision. He explained Caleroh saw it as an act of aggression, Maranath saw as political. He also let the party know he lost nothing because of what Yua did, he actually only gained.
As the questioning continued the party focused on Maranath and the various relationships of Dragons. Asking if the King was related to Maranath which Maranath refused to answer on the same basis as before. Maranath did explain that his father was the God Bahamut, that he was of his first brood. He also answered a question about the nature of the rest of the court, explaining not all were of Tiamat and Bahamut, some were younger then him.
Maranath finally left once he had seemingly exhausted the conscious Realm Walkers questions.
Ranrus went to the Snowbright Gem Mines whole sale shop where he purchased a bunch of diamonds from a young gnome native of Snowbright. The gnome had a fair bit of fun with Ranrus, prolonging his procurement of diamonds. Ranrus made his way back to the House of the Realms and began crushing the diamonds for greater restoration.
Meanwhile Rhy approached Ysir, who was on edge but calmer then she would of expected (if his previous reactions to the parties acquaintances was anything to go on). Ysir was approaching things very balanced and was very worried for the party. There was a moment where Lee and Rhy both thought he might be scared of Rhy, now that she was a chosen. This concern passed quickly. Rhy took Ysir on general tour of the house. The two bumped into "Mutta" but their name didn't seem to phase Ysir. Rhy introduced Ysir to Danny Trune, and had her teach Ysir the same crafting magic she had taught the Realm Walkrs. After which Rhy and Ysir discussed some of his past, how he went across the sea and learnt Giant rune magic which as it was a magic that was a part of Giants his extended use of them had become a part of him. Rhy showed him the Door of Thoughts, and asked if he would like to meet Izret. He thanked her but declined for now, suggesting he might after they deal with the King of the Dragon.
Lee had a bit of existential crisis, sitting alone in Theren's room. Bit'tun came up and delivered a letter with a familiar seal. After reading it he asked Bit'tun if someone living had been guarding the mansion and the only person Bit'tun could think of was Anthony Wilson. Lee then went to the The Boiler Pot to stock up on some potions, after which he returned and continued to wait for Theren to wake.
Theren eventually woke and Lee and they started to catch up. Lee let Theren know that the curse and its flames burn the soul, not just the body. Theren was working through their own crisis, having always looked at the Dragons as their savior thanks to Tenara but that was in flux with Caleroh and Maranath. Theren and Lee had a long discussion about Theren's past and Yua and the Dragons. Lee caught Theren up on everything outside the attempted planeshifting of the fork. They also discussed Caleroh, and Lee's conversation with him about Yua.
Ysir suggested to Rhy they go check on Theren. They collected Ranrus and everyone came back together in Theren's room. There Ranrus starting working on Theren's exhaustion.
The groups discussion moved to how to proceed. This included visiting Di, whom Ysir assumed might just kill them(seeing as he was yet another ancient dragon Ysir already knew was to be respected) making their lives much easier.
At The Roar in the Storm they followed up on the green Dragon, Di explained one of his compatriots was helping her. Theren explained the situation with Caleroh. Di was confused as to how Theren was still alive. he became rather short and quite, but told Theren that when they saw the King to tell him Di would be by soon.
In the midst of the discussion Lee remembered that he was supposed to ask Ranrus to look into him, to see if there was something lingering on him. Ranrus found nothing.
As the party left Di was much more cordial then usual. Lee, just before leaving, asked Di's thoughts on Yua. Di expressed a lack thereof, but did mention "we're not all Caleroh". Ranrus asked if Di would tell them what Caleroh's issue with Yua was to which he calmly and honestly replied, "I don't want to die." Di was not shy in this moment in the adamant expression of Caleroh being able to kill him.
Theren mentioned having Met Gorim and Daragoth and that they had told them that Dragons couldn't handle artifacts of Yua. Di said they weren't his favorite to work with but didn't seem to echo the others feelings.
The party started into a long and complicated discussion on whether to continue with looking for Eragis or if they should head straight to the King of the Dragons. They concluded to spend a day investigating near Dark Mound and then move on if they failed to find Eragis.
The party headed out in the evening and arrived in Dark Mound 9 days later.
The party arrived in the town mentioned by Lord Varse and found it in a terrible state, destroyed houses, land torn up, and a injured and emotionally exhausted survivors. After quickly talking with some locals they confirmed Eragis was responsible for the destruction and had also eaten or taken everyone he'd killed in the village. Ysir started looking over the tracks tracking the battle/massacre. The tracks led to the edge of town where they suddenly ended.
Lee reached out to Oka, who informed him the guild had received no further contract/ jobs for taking out Eragis, and that one party had taken it upon themselves, but no one had heard from them in some time.
