Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 39

General Summary

The Realm Walkers arrived is massive empty chamber with a statue in that the party quickly identified as Loth. they started to explore and discovered the were very high up on the south eastern side of Kemmera. Lee identified a teleportation sigil in the floor in front of the statue of Loth. Theren looked at it hoping to copy it as a teleportation circle and did not find enough common elements to normal teleportation circles. The party debated how to proceed, whether to jump out, or use one of the two teleportation sigils. Party to decided to use sending on Arlon Dawn and in case that proved lacking, he'd message Lee-Ester. Arlon was less then helpful, suggesting they just walk out of the "ballroom" or ask someone for help. Lee-Ester was more detailed telling them to walk onto the sigil in front of the statue or to reach out to the high priestess. They did at least learn they were in the Chapel of Lolth . Theren rushed to the other sigil and disappeared. Ranrus and Rhy quickly followed. Lee remained to investigate the statue and notice Lolth's out reached hands had sharp finger tips and were stained with old blood.   Theren began to investigate the hall they found themselves finding most of the doors locked. Rhy immediately took a seat on the floor. Lee arrived soon after.   One of the last room in the hall had a furious scratching noise coming from it. Lee opened it and discover a Drow woman in purple robes furiously writing on scrolls. She identified as a scribe and seemed perturbed at their presence. her demeanor changed when lee informed her of their unorthodox arrival and quickly suggested they go talk to another scribe, Talis. She offered to pay them two gold to knock down his book fort.   Stepping into the small library Theren began browsing the shelves. Theren found texts describing Drow family histories but failed to find one covering the Umberhalls. Rhy quickly found Talis, and did not knock over his book, asking for help. He quickly took them to see the priestess passing through a chamber with red glowing water ways and a massive statue of Loth. The next chamber was the priestesses quarters. the drow gave brief introduction before leaving the realm walkers with the Priestess.   The priestess explained there is a simple enchantment placed on people using the main entrances teleportation sigil that makes the exit return them their. without the enchantment the sigil send a person to the lower sections of the chapel which they do not typically show off to the public. they could still exit but they have to descend through all those levels. she was worried about Ranrus specifically do to the smell in part being especially hard for him.   Eventually the priestess realized who Rhy was and the the party before her must be the Realm Walkers. she ask How Rhy's mission had gone and confirming no one had died, requested the return of the diamonds that had been leant to her for the support to f the mission. the party got into a debate with her as she even suggested Ranrus should donate his unrelated diamonds. The situation became very intense. The priestess lightly threatened the party never saying she wouldn't show them the way out but repeatedly referencing them taking a long fall. The party not fond of being held hostage over diamonds they didn't believe they should have to part with responded with similar levels of hostility. Eventually the priestess dropped the issue noting she would speak with the queen later and showed them the way to use the sigil in front of the statue of Loth.   There they discussed the chapels history and how the present worshipers had moved away from the murder and sacrifice and in turn there was no chosen of Loth on Ithica. the sigil require a small amount of blood which Rhy was not willing to give so she jumped off the platform dawning her patron and slowly descending with her feather fall token. Eventually, after revisiting the diamond conversation and getting the Priestess's name, Talrene Philiom, the others gave the required blood and entered the lower sections of the chapel.   Descending multiple floors they found the mushroom farm filled with various drow dressed in the same purple robes of the scribes. one of the drow seem interested in their presence but most of the others ignored them and kept working. The mushrooms were growing out of the corpse of a purple worm. The drow who addressed them was very interested in them and offered to show them the rest of the way out. The final floor was formerly a prison that the Drow apologized for.   The drow moved through the floor and as he moved toward a side hall noticed something to the side and as he asked "what is that" something struck him in the side of the head and he dropped to the ground. Ranrus quickly called out, before he hear a grating voice in his mind, "we weren't expecting to see anyone down here but I am hungry". The remaining Realm Walkers prepared for combat.   Date:15th to 16th (just after midnight) of Sithala, 1437 DC
