Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 16
General Summary
After Lord Varse left the party went over to talk to Elanor. They learned about the thrones home being on the Dead Isles, a series of stark high coasted islands of the coast of Krata. Nothing grows there (hence the name) and the region has been ruled by the same family, the Herte's, since it separated from Krata. The Herte's are currently led by three brothers. They feed themselves and their people through expensive assassinations. The dead Isle's are also the home to true Half-giants and the closest known settlement of Giants to Nowch. Elanor wanted to go there immediately. As the party tried to persuade her to take time they told her about the Paradox Blade which, unsurprisingly, she wished to use on Oddi. Hearing the parties initials issues with Devendraw she decided to teach the party about undead, including their common resistances, immunities, and that many stronger undead were stronger against turn undead and could even pass that on to weaker undead. She had found a blade, made of the same black steel of which Lee and Ranrus have interest in, in the living caverns. begrudgingly, Elanor decide she need to more easily communicate with the party if they were going to work together and so she gave them a sending stone, which she would only use to confirm if/when the throne was on the Dead Isle's and that she could wait no longer. She did agree to do research and perform reconnaissance till then. The Realm Walkers suggested several potential options to assist them: the Investigationem Bibliotheca, getting the aid of Champions, and Tholly. In turn Elanor encouraged them to train on fighting/dealing with powerful undead and told them about a village north of Crawn that had people disappearing and some showing up dead with strange wounds. With everything out of the way Elanor left to get a dress for the evenings affairs.
The party spoke to Trent, learning his runes had expanded significantly. Theren explained having met another rune child in Krata. Rhy then insisted on taking him to get dress clothes for the evening. during there shopping adventure she learnt many of the strange rumor's the normal folx in the city believed about Lord Varse. At the tailor he found a simple dress suit but the seamstress with Rhy suggestion modified exposing his rune arm and adding flares around the shoulder. Rhy insisted on paying for it all.
Ranrus went to the craftsmen row to pay for his maul offloading his platinum and jewels, Blacktooth would see about getting them reminted. Asking for a place to work Ranrus learned of an individual with a pneumonia like disease. As time went on he discovered it was wide spread but only one person from each forge seemed infected seemingly with no notable trigger.
Rhy, Theren, Lee, and Trent went to the gala. There they saw the same members of the aristocratic families and a few unexpected faces. Illie Temera and Elanor Lind were together. Theren went to the coat room and payed off an androgynous dwarf to look the other way and stole the only fancy white jacket they could find and stuffed it into the bag of holding. It made a lip clapping noise Theren had never heard before. Rhy moved to speak with Het Fairmoss. She struck off very well revealing how her dress revealed her “scar”. Het and Rhy had very similar dresses though Het's was entirely chiffon with no slip. Het requested the chance to dance with Rhy once the music started. Rhy pointed out that they would be the most attractive people to which Het replied “aren’t you confident”. The two continued with pleasantries. Rhy acknowledge her attendant who also remembered and acknowledged her. Lee spoke with Illie and Elanor learning they might actually be friends. Lee also discussed job opportunities. Elanor was wearing a red and black salsa dress and Illie wore a long silky high thigh cut purple dress.
Ranrus continued to try to figure out what to do about the disease. After his commune failed he reached out for divine intervention. the clouds broke and a beam of golden light poured through. In the middle of the street a spiral of four metal spikes grew. forming at the tip of the spike was an orange crystal anvil that gave off a warm light. But less then a minute later, as this divine creations light flooded over the Artisans Row a silver light pierced the clouds. With a thunderous crash a winged humanoid appeared. Holding a silver blade dawned with platinum armor and silver flames where their eyes should be, the creature stared down at ranrus, a celestial of Bahamut. The two lights and there corresponding crashes could be seen in the ball room of Castle Varse.
