Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 15
General Summary
Rhy, having cast another concentration spell freed the two Werefolk she had banished. Fighting broke out briefly before the Realm Walkers were able to convince them to stop, mostly do to the two being charmed. One of the two Werefolk was especially susceptible and the other two couldn't manage to stop him from spilling the beans, in part do to Rhy maneuvering him about the street magically. They learned Dr. Visser Thittletwat had been on Ithica for more then 30 years, that with his death Midnight was the new leader of the pack, and that Visser and the pack had been after some sort of artifact heart.
The Realm Walkers managed to convince the Werefolk to let them take Visser's body. The two groups parted. The Werefolk headed to the "through way" where their camp was in the Underdark.
Before the Realm Walkers could leave the area they were approached by a individual dressed in silver and white armor. Theren quickly persuaded him that they had just been clearing up a dispute and hadn't meant to finish it in the Fairmoss's section of the city. The guard gave the body a quick look, not noticing anything of note and sent them on their way after Theren agreed to return the coat they were waring (clearly Lady Fairmosses) to the Drow later that evening. Before the party left, they realized just around the corner was a much larger group of individuals dressed in the same armor.
Rhy, Theren, and Ranrus made their way out of the city to return Visser's body to Eberon.
Lee went off on his own to reflect on his new development.
Theren and Ranrus discussed on the way the afterlife. Ranrus and Rhy, outside the city, needed to rest before they could cast the required spells and Theren returned to the city to see the Drow and return the coat. Rhy banished the body and Ranrus used sending to let his Forge Father know.
Theren returned the jacket, but mentioned wanting to see the Master of the house, causing some offense and was made to leave.
On the way back into the city Rhy became distracted as she heard the voice of Alyssia, who promised to aid her with the knowledge Ioun in the future. The party gathered at The Tiddle House. Rhy and Ranrus were set on following up and making sure the Werefolk were not continuing Visser's work.
The Realm Walkers remembered they were supposed to see Elanor and or Lord Varse today and decide to follow up with Elanor at the Dragon Scale Ale House. On the way Theren mentioned a strange itch from their wound, Ranrus examined it noting a strange green edging that seemed to almost move, he cast greater restoration and the strange appearance of the wounds ceased. Ranrus asked Lee to check his wounds but was told it was nothing to worry about.
When they arrived at the Dragon Scale Ale House the found it strangely quite. The barkeep and Elanor were at the bar and Trent and Lord Varse opposite the bar at a table. After brief hellos the Realm Walkers joined Lord Varse, who explained he’d been looking for them but when he discovered Elanor he stayed to entertain her. He had also been trying to convince Trent to work for him. He gave Theren the sun card, and Rhy the choice of two tuning forks. She chose one for Dovesnest and learnt of a plane covered in giant pastel coloured mushrooms where people who seem unnaturally happy live on top of mushrooms and the unhappy are sent below. Lord Varse visited and quickly hated the city; exploring he found the smaller mushroom were animate and carnivorous. He went below and there he discovered the unholy union of fiends, demons, and myconoids. He was set upon by what he assumed was a succubus at some point, who tried to seduce him but he sliced her in twain. He left soon after finding both the sun and the shadow not to his liking.
They discussed Visser, and Lord Varse still showed no concern, until mention of the through way. Varse spoke hypothetically about the implications of such a passageway, if one existed he would appreciate if the party could check the records of the comings and going of such a passage with whomever was responsible for it. He decide to throw a gala that evening, a “midnight” affair, and invited Elanor, who graciously, if not entirely a begrudging, accepted.
