Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 10
General Summary
Early on the morning of the 22nd Rhy went out to see the Twins. Lee and Ranrus returned to The Boiler Pot. There were no potions that met Ranrus's requirement but Lee was able to buy a potion of invulnerability for 5000gp. All three returned around the same time and the party made final preparations to leave. As they stepped out a short shiny figure stood against the gated entryway, Ohpa was waiting for them.
He had a black eye and explained in a somewhat flustered manner that he had gotten into a fist fight with Chris Goldson during the shadow attack. He told them he was headed to Ironhead to rally the powers that be to move on Oddi but he had a request for them. If they saw Oka before him to let her know “The cats out of the bag.” After a moment he said they could tell Izret as well if they wanted. He left, the party all noticing a simple sword on his hip and a fine bag of holding over his shoulder.
The party left reaching The Wilds the next morning to search for a hydra. They headed west towards the ocean and water. Theren found a trail and the party followed it for most of the day until they came to a clearing. The clearing was very circular and had around a 150 ft. diameter. The clearing was full of tall grass and at its center a pond and the remains of a small stone structure. While the structure was physically broken it wasn't weathered. The main section had a large symbol of Melora and the rest was covered in druidic runes. The sky above the clearing was a strange haze, almost like a canopy filtering light. There was a divine feeling or presence felt by Rhy and Ranrus here, something neither had felt since seeing the anvil with the freshly carved symbol of Onatar on it in the The Deadman’s Forge in Dark Mound.
Noticing the path they had been following came right up to the clearing before skirting around it, the party decided to camp in the clearing that night. During Lee's watch he noted the appearance of a centaur. The centaur, Ohzin, appeared to be the Chosen of Melora, as he claimed to have spoken to her. He seemed uneducated in other gods, liked explosions, and most interestingly believed the gods lost a war with the dragons. He spoke with Rhy and lee, and eventually Theren on a series of subjects, including his general adversarialness with dragons, his complete lack of understanding of really any gods other then Melora, and his duty to protect her many glades in The Wilds. He told the party of a giant sleeping dragon covered in moss, grass and other plant life, and a "mean" purple dragon. Ohzin appeared to attempt some sort of communication with Melora by causing a sudden explosion in the pond, waking Ranrus the only member of the party who slept through the quirky centaurs arrival in the glade. Theren asked if he could take the party to a hydra in the morning. He agreed though he wouldn’t fight it. He was happy to hear they intended to use the corpse not just kill, not that he'd be too bothered as he accepted hydras tended to kill people too.
