Chronicles of the Realm Walkers: Session 1
General Summary
The twins found themselves face to face with Izret and his wife , the former queen of the Moonfolkon Ithica, Chalaina. They had many question and learned much, amongst them, that the Queens murderer, Master Minta, still lived and was still leading the The Church of Change in Great Bird. They learned Izret had many regrets and had admittedly been a bad father. He seemed to have a strange reaction when the twins mentioned they had been in Kynta's Keep, but he assured them Kynta was dead. He was happy to hear Oka and Ohpa still lived and asked the twins to thank them and apologize for any trouble his curse caused after his death. Rhy got to meet Sasnia properly and the two enjoyed a touching but awkward embrace. Sasnia expressed that the work between Rhy and them had only just begun and suggested it wouldn't be looked down upon if they hastened Master Minta's arrival in Coraloon. The twins managed to summon Spearadear back, whom was very blunt about how limited her knowledge of what was going on on Ithica was, but she did reveal the Gods decided to leave in response to a power imbalance that could not be fixed. She also revealed that Chalaina had been her chosen on Ithica and wondered if Chalaina thought Rhy would be a suitable successor, implying she had not had one since Chalania's death. Chalaina thought Rhy needed some work. Chalaina also told the twins about the silver artifact in their possession, the Door of Thoughts, capable of creating a "doorway" between two location even across planes. Chalaina offered to take them back to Ithica. Lee inquired about speaking with Izret and despite saying she would retrieve him, she detoured the conversation to the Door of Thoughts and then returned the twins, Yvonne, and Ralocan back to the Moonfolk temple on Ithica.
The guild party collected the Bahamut artifact, a bow, and other treasures and Chalaina returned, presumably, to Coraloon. The twins noted she in no way looked ethereal, she was still just a beautiful young Moonfolk women as she had appeared in Coraloon. They found Kynta's bones and a sword that appeared to be self impaled in a second corpse. The twins followed through on a promise to Izret and burned Kynta's bones, only to hear a cackling that Yvonne and Ralocan could not. They feared it had to do with the necromantic throne the bones had sat upon but concluded it was coincidence. The guild party returned to Palmata and informed the client of the ins and outs of retrieving the remaining treasure but did not mention the bow, which they promised Izret they would return to its home in Illis Inlet. The twins, receiving their share of the rewards, went to Ironhead where they contacted ThollyThe World Mirror where they debriefed Gump on their discovery of a functioning but very strange Dragon Gate .
Ogden informed them this was likely exactly what his guardian needed and that they need to take his new guardian to the gate to attune to other planes. He also explained that first they needed to fix the guardians attunement as it had never fully unattuned to Theren. He also informed them it should be able to find Theren. He hadn't revealed this previously as it would of slowed down his work and he didn't want to deal with Darkwing .
The party journeyed again, this time through the harsh mountains, following the construct until they reached the Gold Library where the construct suddenly stopped moving. They entered and found Theren and the ancient Gold Dragon, Maranath. They sat down for tea with him and caught up. He was interested in them and made clear they would retain their memories under certain conditions, since they were friends and allies of Theren and Tholly, and had relations with Draconom and Disiga. He explained what dragon soul stones truly were and that Abigail was Ioun's chosen. Rhy asked about Mutta and before Maranath could stop her she explained her theory and displayed her evidence. Maranath growled, "never say the name of my king a again", confirming her suspicions that Mutta was indeed the name of the king of the dragons. He implanted in them all both a protection and a curse. He told them if they spoke of his library outside of it he would turn them into a small snack and that if they said Mutta's name he wouldn't have a chance. As part of the curse he did promise their minds were shielded from revealing the nature of Mutta, keeping them safe from inadvertently giving up the information.
Maranath had rooms made up for them and would happily speak with them in the morning. They could relax, have breakfast and head out whenever they wished. Ranrus asked about their construct and was informed that Maranath had a very specifically designed anti magic field and that the construct would be in perfectly good working order.
