Chronicles of the Realm Walkers, The Amber Forge: Session 35

The party moved out of the room with Dragon skeleton and into what appeared to be a trophy room. There were five altars with tattered runners each with a different trophy displayed on top: a section of Red Dragon hide with much of its scales intact, a sword large enough for a Giant, a set of armor, remains of a construct, and the remains of a Fiend. Theren identified the scales as ancient Red Dragon scales and Ranrus magically identified the sword as Trisu, Man Cutter.   While the the Realm Walkers inspected the displays the Caretaker entered the room. Theren had a relatively fruitless conversation with him about being a servant, which he didn't seem to consider himself. The party moved further in, finding a chamber with a statue in it. Eventually the whole party, except for Ranrus found them selves staring at a formerly locked door. Ranrus tried to free them but was ineffective. He went to get the Dragons to help. Dora cast dispel magic over and over, eventually freeing each of them.   Rhy called to Feln after being freed and requested a tour, which he obliged. He explained the displays were some of his most prized materials, most of which came from or were individuals that tried to kill him. He showed them the model of Castle Ravenloft and where a ruby had resided that he had removed for other uses. He identified the Dragon remains as a Dragon that had tried to kill him and his companions. He showed the party practice or testing chambers and the forges support rooms. When showing off his supply room he told the party he'd recently sold a sword to a High Elf from Fron Tar to help kill a Dragon who was killing off her entire bloodline. He also told them about the four statues in his forge, each one an individual who carried one of his masterpieces.   After the statues he finally took the party to see Strahd. Through a secret passage and library, the party ended up in a room with a fountain with a casket at its center and strange humanoid with a similar appearance to Feln curled up on a bed.   Feln reveled Strahd was brought back to life and that he had to be killed again. When he was revived a second time Feln captured him and harvested his form. The party noticed some familiar features to Strahd which Theren seem slightly more familiar with. Lee cut offone of Strahd's finger to give to Lord Varse.   The humanoid who looked like Feln turned out to be a simulacrum, one specially crafted to last a very long time. The simulscrum had become the bearer of the negative effects related to several deals Feln had made. Feln requested the party retrieve a Luck Blade for a hag so that he could use the wish to free the simulacrum of the curses it was under. There was an intense stand off when the simulacrum asked to be killed, but Feln managed to assure the party that the curse was the cause, and that the simulacrum did not actually want to die. He promised that if the wish did not work or if after the simulacrum still wanted to die he would put the simulacrum down himself.   The party took a meal with Feln. After which Ranrus cured Lee of his Lycanthropic infection, regenerated Rhy's finger, and cast regenerate on the simulacrum which seemed to have some effect. Dora and Xena planeshifted home and the Realm Walkers each retired to one of the four guestrooms.   Date: 1st day in Barovia
