Chronicle of Fates: Session 10, Ivory Revelations

The Realm Walker's went to another presentation about another magic item in development to be presented to the Iter Idea's Council. During the presentation Lee met the other Itharia member who work for Darkwing, Kcras. He had been sent for some amount of general investigation.   After the presentation the party mostly started to wind down. Rhy and Ysirwent to the library and faded to black. Ranrus met with Sorn the nonbinary Dwarven head of the Artifce department to discuss his airship design. Ranrus learnt Ogden Bootholtwas the former head of the department. Lee tested the tower security and met with Morgianna as a result. he made a deal to get some piece of information if he could make Yelena smile. the next day the party went to the Porcelain sister's presentation. an orrery that could map planes and great physical maps. The goal of this device seemed to clos e the schism in the world over whether or not planes existed and with that out of the way address bigger question like why had the Gods abandoned Ithica

  The Realm Walker’s went to the presentation in the next room. Ysir an Rhy sat at the front while stay, Abigail and Ranrus sat toward the back. Lee leaned against the wall to wards the back and when the presentation started sensed someone watching them. Darkwing’s man seem ed to be watching him, confused about lee’s presence.   The trio of women began their presentation of a magic item that was compressed platform that could expand out creating a magical 10ftx10ftx10ft “room” or space. The example was a hot spring that was layered with magical effects. They pitch that the item could be created for many purposes including, temporary home, temporary clinics or field medical facilities. The Realm Walkers once again were concerned about cost, production and sale, something that seemed especially confusing to the presenters. The production was not cheap as it involved diamond and magic to augment the resources use in the platform. The Iter Idea’s Council came up once again. Rhy remembered that the council had been a murmur when she was in school. It was a council under the Master of Commerce. It seemed to have become some sort of advancement on Iter’s culture of self sufficiency and the betterment of all. The council was most likely not concerned with profit but what could help society, whether that was Iter society, or a broader idea was unclear.   After mentioning conjured liquid did not get closed up into the sphere and splashed out before disappearing, the conversation diverged into high level conjuration discussion between the various academics in the room.   Lee stepped out of the hall and shortly after was approached by Darkwing’s man, whom he recognized but could not remember his name. Man addressed lee Riley and Sir.   The young man, Kcras, had been a student in Iter and had a dossier on the professor( and implied other professors as well) he was with about his fraternizing with students, that he used to black mail him into joining the retinue and broadly investigate the Tower of Eg. Lee explained they were likely there for the same thing and lee had completed the mission. Kcras would be more cautious.   Kcras’s skill was in being forgettable, it seemed to be magical in nature. If he did not give his name, people tend to forget him. For combat was very focused on assassination with poisons.   Kcras gave a small scroll tube containing his dossier about the professor he was with.   The presentation ended and the party re convened. The party decide to stay in the offered dorm rooms that night. Before the party called it a night Ranrus sent to Amorna the head of the academy of sunrise hill archaeological dig at the ruins of Ithasia to ask her to keep an eye out for and if necessary, help a sun tree. She agreed but also followed up asking the source for that information. Ranrus was vague but she pushed, and he revealed he has spoken to the Whispering one’s Messenger. She had heard of him and his master but had believed they were a myth.   The provided rooms were customized to their party. Rhy requested a slight modification her room to keep stay from being able to enter. Abigail went to bed, stay went to perform a worship ritual to Grestien. Lee also went to bed. Ysir and Rhy went to the nearest library where Ysir first read to Rhy from a history of Iter text, and then they faded to black in the stacks.   Ranrus went to find food and then while in the dining hall found a nonbinary dwarf who was the head of the artifice department to have a look at his designs.   They were a bit strange thinking Ranrus was a student and not noticing he was a Loxodon. They discussed the plans, the theoretical powers source, improvements, and who he could talk to get more help or information. Ranrus learnt Ogden was the former artifice professor of the Tower of Eg and had pissed of the giants getting the Tower of Eg blacklisted by them. as the two parted the dwarf introduced themselves as Sorn.   Lee went to the library where he tested the observational abilities of the tower. He turned invisible and used his true sight to see the sensors in the library and following him.   Eventually he attracted Morgianna who approached humming and cast anti magic field and found Lee. she explained the sensors did not have true sight, but heir were other means to track people in the beyond the scrying sensors. During their discussion Morgianna showed that she knew about the Itharia and the way of the ethereal. Lee tried to learn more about the towers observational magic, but Morgianna resisted. They eventually came to an agreement that if Lee could make Yelena smile, she would “tell him something”.   Lee then investigated how to make Yelena laugh and learnt that she seemed to have some of reaction to Tifa being upset.   The party all eventually returned to the rooms, Stay returning the latest. The next morning there was some hustle and bustle, and they waited for the sister presentation the party saw group of dwarves with a weird boulder that seemed to drip molten metal that quickly solidified.   Everyone was summoned to the first floors main lecture hall where the porcelain sisters were waiting with something under a red silk sheet. Elizabeth mads some general updates and instruction to eh senior invitees. She then started her presentation about solving a schism. Something they all knew was true but were scoffed at. She revealed a sort of orrery and that the thing every invitee had in common was they believed or knew there were other planes.   The realm walkers were on guard and Ysir was following their lead. The orrery started creating opening into other planes, creating small windows, but not tears. Translucent illusion appeared around the window and an abstract map of the inner planes was made. Eventually the map collapsed, and a crystal was made. This crystal could project the map. The presentation continued and as the contraption could map outer planes as well and with the use of a tuning fork map other planes. With these maps the schism could be repaired and once this was don, they as a society could move on to bigger questions. She continued, the Gods are real, and they don’t answer those to pray to them… we have seen gods answer prayers, the gods have abandoned Ithica.”
