Amber Forge

In the present, the Amber Forge, formerly the Amber Temple, is the home of Feln and is the multi-planar business hub where he forges and sells weapons of murder. It has also become the second most important religous site for The Church of the Veiled Hunter.   The importance of the forge within the scope of the multiverse is hard to comprehend. Long ago when the first material planes were being made, there was no common blueprint to maintianing their form and stability. What is common now, a material plane, surrounded invisibly by a set of inner planes, conected with astral sea and the outer planes, was not always the case. Because of the this, the first plane to have a Shadowfell and a Feywild was in and of itself not much to speak of but for the fact that it was the origin of these two inner planes and their inclusion in the construction of most future material planes. On that first material plane, the Amber Temple was constructed to summon or create powerful entities to be used as weapons. This ritual drew on the Shadowfell and the result was the Dark Powers. Whether the Dark Powers were created or simply somthing pulled from a dark corner of creation, no one knows for sure. What is known, is with their arrival in the temple, they could not be controlled. The world became known to them and they to it.   Over time the temple was repurposed as a prison for powerful beings. Those beings were trapped inside of the magical amber that gave the temple its name. This may of inpsired the Dark Powers inevitable choices. The valley in which the temple resided was called Barovia. Strahd Von Zarovich was a prince who conquerored the Valley. After settling down he began to feel the weight of middle age. He forged a pact with the Dark Powers in order to achieve immortality and to gain possesion of his "true love". To achieve this the Dark Powers gave him direction. the directed him to the Amber Temple where he made a deal with one of the prisoners and became a vampire. he murdered his brother and chased the woman he ebelived to be his true love to the poitn she killed herself.   Despite their involvement, the Dark powers chose to punish Strahd. The Dark Powers first created Barovia, pulling it out from that unremarkbale material plane, into the first Shadowfell and then seperating it from the rest of the Shadowfell, making Strahd von Zarovich the first darklord of the first Domain of Dread. The Dark powers were not limited to that first material plane, all Shadowfells share a connection of somekind to that first Shadowfell and in turns the Dark Powers. As such the Domains of Dread have expanded as the Dark Powers punish more and more individuals.   The signifigance of the Amber Forge, and its history is known to very few, but there are those that beleive it is the heart of the Domains of Dread and could play a critical part in any attempt to change the reach of the Dark Powers or the nature of the domains themselves.
