Felmoran

A person belonging to a clan of Felmor.    Felmorans are distinguishable from others by their warrior ethos and love for competition. They are generally more robust than their counterparts on the Isle.

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

Felmorans value clan bonds highly. Siblings and cousins are particularly close relationships more often than not, having grown up and learning from one another. These relationships can just as easily be rivalries however, as often they will be in competition with one another. Such rivalries are beneficial in pushing individuals to improve, but can cause harm if they grow into hatred. The cohesion and longevity of a clan is dependent on strong bonds, and Felmor is no stranger to clans that dissolved due to infighting.    Freedom is paramount to Felmorans as well. They like to have their voices heard in clan assemblies and their movement unobstructed. As such, Felmorans are quick to snap at those who order them around, or who won't listen to their opinions.

Common Etiquette rules

Any challenge should be accepted, unless there is something more important to do. Though honestly, what is more important than proving your honor?   If someone is raising a dispute against another, it is common courtesy to standby in case there is need of a witness.    If someone is straining, stuck in the mud, drowning, or otherwise preoccupied, no help should be given or offered. To do so could be considered an insult. Help in such situations should only be given if it is asked for. Additionally, it is considered good manners not to tell anyone about the situation if help was requested.    In duels to the death, it is etiquette not to dismember or decapitate opponents. Doing so is grounds for a blood feud between families or clans.

Common Dress code

Felmorans wear short, sleeveless tunics to show off their physique. During the colder times of year, they will wear long fur coats and leathers. They often wear torcs around their necks decorated in the fashion of their patron gods, accompanied by other worked jewelry. Most commonly the jewelry would be made of leather, wood, or bone, though wealthier clansmen might wear a torc of precious metal.    Armor and arms are often worn publicly, though going with out is considered far more comfortable. Their armor pieces center around a thick leather belt. Most armors are of leather and quilted cloth, with very few sporting bronze. The most common weapons seen are daggers and spears of stone and bone. More seasoned and high ranking clansmen might have arms of bronze.

Common Taboos

Looking at and speaking to elderly people. It is thought that doing so may prolong your life beyond its prime, a common fear in Felmor.    Cheating of any kind.
