Two Liches raised an army of undead to cleanse all life. This desperate struggle saw the mighty continent-spanning kingdom fall and many former antagonistic races come together to defeat, and seal the liches away.

Drow from the Underdark invaded the surface world, with the help of one of the Liches from the War of Life, attempted to block out the sun. They were defeated and most were driven back to the Underdark but many stayed on the surface.
