Titans

Even those who we call wise can at times act without wisdom. So it was that the wise folk of Iarunn learned of the Colossi and the ending of the world, which as they saw it was inevitable. So in their foolishness which they regarded as wisdom, they planned together a force which could stand against the All-Mother's destroyers and hold back the doom of Isesda. In times after many have wondered whether it was madness that drove them or hubris or the whisperings of Akumo who would see influence returned. Whatever their reasoning, the wizardly skill of the Iarunngard birthed the Titans, great beasts of unprecedented destructive power crafted from the very matter of creation itself with a skilled arcanist at its core within a lattice of magical workings so complex they can scarce be believed. The like of these things had not been seen since the godswar, and they went out to the nations of the world to stand against the will of the maker. Yet their ability in this purpose would never be tested, as the Titans were taken and bent to corrupt purpose. Those with aspirations of domination saw only the greatest weapon ever crafted within their grasp. Even those of noble heart were twisted by the Titans, for they took them as defense against the others, and it seemed these engines crafted to prevent the world's end would instead be its cause. The wise who had commanded the Titans now either lay dead and replaced by those who would have the might of Titans for themselves or had turned from their mission to serve the will of greater and more terrible men. Those with hearts pure and true wisdom came to destroy the Titans or bury them never to walk again, but not before they rained destruction upon the world.
