Reman Rifles

No invention in the history of warfare has had a more devastating impact than the Reman invention of firearms. The simple muskets and pistols of the empire's second expansion were enough to secure dominance throughout the islands under the imperial banner, but in the time since the weaponsmiths of the empire have been anything but idle. The Reman Rifle is the most powerful firearm created yet, more deadly than a canon and as light as any sword. This powerful firearm has only just begun production, but already the emperor seeks to fully equip his army with such. Their accuracy and reliability are well beyond the standard musket, and they are durable enough to carry into any battle without fear of failure. While production ramps up, the emperor's personal guard have all been issued rifles and trained in their use, which when added to their existing sword skills makes them some of the deadliest warriors in imperial history at any range. They've even been shown to lay an enemy low at 700 meters before the target even hears the rifle's report. Unfortunately it is not all glory for the empire. That last trait in particular, that of the incredible range and accuracy of the weapon, has already rendered it an ideal choice for assassins looking to engage their target at a distance, replacing the heavy crossbows previously favored thanks to the inaccuracy and other drawbacks of muskets. In fact, Reman rifles have become a popular commodity on the black market, resulting in frequent thefts and the need to heavily secure production facilities and armories alike. Despite Adventi efforts to prevent smuggling, the rare Reman rifle has even found its way across the great ocean to Derathainni and Raivanni shores. What's certain is that these rifles mark a change which will eventually sweep across the whole of Isesda, and given the speed of advancement who knows what implements of death may be coming next.
