Rerena's Grace
Celebration of Late Harvest
The days of Harvest have come and gone, yet the golden grains of the coming winter's wheat still grows in the fields, its golden husks plumping with the necessary grains to sustain the village for the cold months ahead. Whether it was heavy rains or a late planting that caused this field not to be barren yet as the days shorten on their way to the solstice, it does not matter. By the grace of the Goddess, this field will yet be harvested, its crop filling storage rooms and bellies as cold winds turn to even colder snows. That is why the Clay Giants celebrate these waning days, the time from Harvest to the first frost being a blessing from the Goddess herself.
Rerena's Grace is the time celebrated between the days of Harvest and the first hard frost that ends the growing season. While not a singular holiday or observed on a specific day, this period is one of hard work and grace, where fields that were hindered throughout the year can still be harvested and utilized, albeit at a time that is not ideal for harvest. That is why this time is known as Rerena's Grace, the days when the Goddess holds back the impending winter, allowing her beloved people to prepare and cultivate the lands she has gifted them.
If by some luck these days of grace are not needed for continued harvest and preparation of the fields, then these days are a time of work and storing. The crops that were harvested either during Harvest or the days of Rerena's Grace must be stored properly, ground into flours, made into alcohols, breads, and other foods that will bless the tables of the Clay Giants as their lands are blanketed in snow. Rerena's Grace is the final days before winter will be upon them, before their preparations become necessities. No matter the amount or what type of work must occur during these days, there is a celebration afoot, even if only at heart.
Execution
Rerena's Grace starts immediately after the days of Harvest and is something that is only celebrated within the Cradle of Clay. The harvests and feasts of the earlier days may continue, but most often, these days are filled with hurried harvesting of late crops, the creation of long-lasting foodstuffs, and the brewing of a variety of alcohols. This time is mostly spent in preparation, but smaller feasts may be held at the end of the week as part of surveying what has been accomplished and how much is left to prepare for the months ahead.
While not all Clay Giants are farmers, everyone takes part in both Harvest and Rerena's Grace, fulfilling a variety of duties that will help their village survive and thrive. Many who are not farmers are often Cooks and brewers, creating the dishes and drinks that all partake in during feasts and when the cold sets in. Every person in the village has a role in both of these celebrations, making all part of the gratitude expressed to Rerena for her continued blessings.
The days of Rerena's Grace often end with a day of storytelling when the first hard frost covers the land. The Clay Giants of a village will gather together, either in buildings or around a fire pit, to share stories of the years past, the farms that have flourished, and the blessings they have received. After this time of sharing, the Shaman of the village will often step forward to share prominent stories of their people, including the story of the Rye of Rerena and the Clay Giants' arrival in the Cradle of Clay, as a celebration of another year survived in a land of their own.
Golden Fields
Golden fields of various grains cover much of the Cradle of Clay, showcasing the agricultural culture of the Clay Giants that thrives here. Many of their holidays and traditions center around the growing season and the various duties that are part of stewarding the earth.

What a lovely tradition. I like that it's not a set day but a time period.
