Qualifications

The only qualification that is needed for one to become an Oracle is to be able to hear the voices of the gods. No matter how much one trains in the church or how much affinity one has for light magic, there is only one oracle every generation and the oracle can come from anywhere, no matter if they are a noble, a member of the church or a commoner.

Career Progression

The position of Oracle is a special one, it automatically rises that person to the second highest in the church, just below the Pope. There is no other progression, but the person who becomes an oracle is placed in a special position where they are controlled by the church with strict rules as to what they can do and who they can see.

Payment & Reimbursement

While there is no payment or reimbursement for the Oracle, the Oracle does get everything they need. They are treated just like royalty and live in luxury so it is believed that they do not need any other sort of compensation.

The Oracle gets fame and recognition as they are the special one who can hear the voice of the gods, they get everything they want and live in luxury. They are also the second highest position in the church so it is seen as a position of great authority.

History

It is said that an Oracle is born when the world faces a great crises. The role of the Oracle is said to have originated in the time of the great hero when the voices of the gods chose one girl to pass on their warnings and helped her find the hero that helped save the world. From that moment on, the Oracle was seen as the one chosen by the gods to help the world in a time of crisis.
