Leanan Viermont

She is thin and frail looking with pale skin that looks ghostly white. She has never been sick a day in her life.

She has pale skin that is almost devoid of colour. She is branded with a tattoo over her wrist that declares she is a property of Neurex Systems. She has a scar on her right shoulder, a burn from when her tutor made sure she realised the consequences of magic by burning her with the tutor's fire magic and refused to let any healer treat it.

She has piercing ruby red eyes, thin lips, arched eyebrows. Her slightly curly long hair is snow white, which makes her eyes stand out even more.

Her red eyes and snow white hair are the features that identify her, their the features that people call her a demon for.

• She usually taps her thigh three times when she's deep in thought.
• She always makes sure she is meticulously groomed before setting foot in public.

• She always wears dark dresses, mostly black, with a splash of red or purple.
• When she sneaks out she likes to wear her horse riding gear with a black robe and a mask that covers her face.

In the real world Riley Grey is a high school student who is into developing computer games. Her father worked for Neurex Systems. She was arrested after she was found standing over her father's dead body. She was found guilty of murder and forced into the simulation .

Leanan Viermont is the daughter of Duke Maximilus Viermont. She was born to a princess of a fallen land, whose royalty was rumoured to be part fae. When Leanan was born she was called a cursed child because of her snow white hair and ruby eyes, but the Duke did not want to kill her because she might be of use to him some day, instead when she was only six years old, the Duke ordered her mother to be executed. Her mother was burned alive right in front of Leanan, with the Duke warning her that if she doesn't prove she is useful then he can easily kill her like that.

Leanan was raised in a country manor, kept away from social events and in a household that feared and hated her. The only people she had any associations with were the maids and her tutor, but they would rather not associate with her any more than necessary.

As Leanan grew up, she tried to prove her worth to her father, whether it in her studies or her magic or her etiquette trainings, but nothing seemed to please the Duke, especially her magic that seemed more attuned to dark magic, which was a sign of evil.

Now that she is about to enter the academy she knows this is her last chance to prove herself useful or her father will carry out the threat and kill her.

Leanan had one strict tutor that taught her everything from noble etiquette, dancing, horse riding, history, geography, politics and magic (although her magic lessons stopped once she showed an affinity for dark magic and the duke became fearful she would become a demon).

• She has mastered all of her lessons and has become an expert at noble etiquette, dancing and book smarts.
• She secretly taught herself how to control her magic as well as using the bow and arrow.

• She blew up the study room when she first tried to use magic, which made everyone even more fearful of her.
• She feels embarrassed about how hard she tried to get her father to pay attention to her.

• Watching her mother be killed in front of her eyes. She can remember the scounds of her screams, smell the sizzle of flesh, feel the heat of the fire. This event has made her fearful that her father could deem her useless and just go ahead and kill her on a whim.

• Curiosity - She always has to figure out how things work, she will become obsessed with something if she doesn't know how it works.
• Memory - She has a photographic memory that always remembers everything she's heard and seen.

• She doesn't like seeing people bullying the weak, but she has no qualms over being the bully and instigator if it's to someone whom she deems is a bully themselves.

• She cannot take someone else's life.

Her main motivation is to survive the simulation and try to make it home. Her secondary motivation is to discover who murdered her father and find out what happened to her sister. She has vowed vengeance on those responsible and she will not let anyone stop her from getting revenge.

She is estranged from her family. She doesn't get along with her father but she also fears him as he can order her death on a whim. She is despised by her step-mother (the duchess) and she is treated by an insignificant speck of dirt by her older half-brother (Curtis).

In the real world she was an Atheist who only believed in things she could see and understand, in the simulation she hates the gods as she considers the gods the same as the corporation who stuck her in the simulation.

In both the real word and the simulation Leanan has never been one to be able to socialise. She is awkward and people often misunderstand her, which often leads people to fear or hate her. She would rather stay by herself.

She stands and walks like a noble, something she has been thoroughly educated on, but when she gets too excited or angry she becomes very animated with her hands.

• Hobbies: She enjoys horse riding and shooting her bow and arrow, as well as video games (in the real world).
• Pets: She has a pet raven that she raised from an injured baby named Night.

She speaks in a low and steady tone and doesn't waste any words.

Even though she comes from a Ducal house, she doesn't have the same wealth or possessions from that house. She has only been given the bare necessities and her education at the academy paid for, she needs to figure out a way to provide for herself.
