Call to Muster

A final battle with the Fleshshapers.

Eisheru, Kelvin and Svenka head north to lend Greystar Confederation aid to the New Moon Cooperative. A mega fleet composed of hundreds of CBSS and NMC ships was lead by the Veles, the Cantor and the Vox Finalis arrayed themselves against the corrupted Star Forge of the Shapers.   A brutal fight ensued. With each side taking heavy damage. Several times it seemed as though the combined might of humanity and her allies wasn't going to be enough. Each time the coalition clawed back from the brink of defeat to stand strong.   With holes punched into the corrupted forge, Kelvin in the Thunderchild is able to slip into the interior of the behemoth. From the inside the Corvette wreaks havoc and deals the final blow. Its death shriek could be heard across the system.   The forge is dying and it’s clear to everyone observing, though the process itself is likely to take hours on an organism that large. Ships keep their distance and move out of weapons range to avoid its dying flails.   Most of the lighter vessels in each fleet have been lost, and virtually every single ship has sustained moderate damage of some kind. Even the heavier ships weren’t spared.   The NMC from a fleet of dozens now has a mere sixteen ships remaining including their flagship.   The CBSS fared little better, with two cruisers and the six strong remnant of various escort groups surviving.
