Founding Elysium

Cyrus Adonis departs the UNW, founding the Elysium Protectorate.

Forged in the fires of War the fledgling Elysium Initiative rose to prominence during the strife that followed the UNW's emergence into space and their war with the Tenebrian Remnant. It's beginnings were that of a mercenary company, with a strong moral leaning to the good. Their mission statement to make the universe a better place by bringing peace.   Primarily a military intervention force, funded by a sizeable trade network and favourable UNW contracts E.I grew rapidly under the guidance and leadership of it's founder Cyrus Adonis. They led many covert military operations against the Remnant forces, first starting out as skirmishes and later as a fully fledged military organisation with the ability to call on thousands of Warriors and a large naval contingent known as the Myrmidons.   Towards the end of the Remnant war whilst on the hunt for the infamous escaped terrorist Malak Abd al-Muta Cyrus entered a trance like meditation. In which he was given an audience with a Metadimensional being. A God. Ares, the God of War. Subsequently Cyrus was given a mandate to bring peace to the Galaxy as best he could, and participate in the 'Last War'. As a reward he became the Champion of Ares.   Later, the Elysium Initiative was tasked by the President of the UNW Kincaid, to bring the last of the Remnant stronghold to heel and end the war with them once and for all. Thus began the Creusa campaign. A coalition force of factions from within the UNW brought furious vengeance down on the enemy forces protecting the world under the leadership of the Initiative. The Myrmidons dropped down onto the floating cities like angels and did battle in the streets.   Ultimately the Remnant were forced to concede and a total surrender was agreed, with some contention. And so began the crack that later forced the departure of the Initiative. Soon after the battle an insurgency began on the planet, an insurgency that the Initiative attempted to quell however the Myrmidons were over zealous in their persecutions and that tied with the political situation turning unfavourable led Cyrus to talk of leaving the UNW once and for all. To lead his people into the void and find them a true home to call their own.   It was at that moment Ares spoke from the shadows of the room. Telling them of a planet, Heras far to the galactic west, where they could do some good. Where they could amend the mistakes of Creusa and start anew. Ares, using the reserves of his metadimensional energies conjured a storm in space, the likes of which had never been seen. The storm swallowed the Initiative's ships, warriors and allied civilians planting them on Heras in the ruins of a long forgotten city - Mytikas.   So they start their new life, transcending the past boundaries of their organisation. No longer the Elysium Initiative but the Elysium Protectorate, a new government seeking to bring the injustice rulers of Heras - the Khans - To account, by mandate of Ares their Patron and claim this world for their own.
