Turmoil in the Protectorate.

Things seemed to look better by the day. Commander Cole became more and more the established Regent that was needed without completely breaking with how Cyrus dealt with problems. Trade with smaller villages was initiated and a loose alliance with the cities of Chiron and Haphaestea was established.   During their efforts to get more construction materials for the city's vast projects, Kayden Zayre and head engineer Carmen Ferarro met a sentient magic forest-dwelling race. The Layzal. They seem to be non-aggressive keepers of the forest and the ecosystem of the planet as a whole. They became friendly with Carmen, Kayden, and Mytikas as a whole, thanks to Carmen and Kayden helping them get rid of some river pollution produced by a tribe. But in the end, the Layzal remain mysterious.   But the word constancy seems to still be no part of the Elysium vocabulary when two merchant ships from off-world entered the Herasian orbit. Andra was called to aid Cole during possible negotiations. So both and many more waited for the ships to arrive when one of them sped over the city and crashed into the temple, killing dozens right away. The question if it was an accident, wasn't even asked when Underhill drones, bug-like monsters, swarmed out of the temple ruins. It became apparent that they were under attack. The fight against the drones and what seemed to be Remnant pirates was one, but the price was high. The temple area ended up in ruins and the regent dead, with the second merchant ship and the remaining pirates leaving the system.   With only a day of delay, a group of well-known citizens started to trail the ship. An error in their spike procedures brought them heavily of course. They exited the spike in the Bergasa system. But they were not alone. Former UNW citizen and Omni-Psychic Silvano met them. He and his men were still licking wounds from fighting against the Shapers. After sharing some words, Silvano wanted to use a laser pistol that Andra took from a killed pirate, to maybe find out more about those pirates and to pinpoint their location. He shared a vision, the memories of the owner of these weapons. They found out that it wasn't mere space pirates who attacked them. It was a group that called itself the Brothers of Fenris. They were just disguised as pirates.   With that information, it was clear that they had to stop those brothers.
