The Fall of The Still Lady

Military action

The forces of the Communist Brotherhood of Stellar States, Elysium Protectorate, Greystar Confederation, New Moon Cooperative, and United Nations of Worlds send a task force through the metaspace storms around Rana, and assault the home planet of The Still Lady.   The Still Lady was defeated, though Herald Daitrij and Agent Tychos were both killed in the resulting battle.

The Rana Campaign began with a forced landing of personnel and army units as the space battle occurred above. The Still Lady fleet was small, but fought ferociously in orbit, before being joined by their enormous flagship. The Greystar Confederation lost three vessels, including the storied Thunderchild, a hero of the final battle against the Fleshshapers. The Veles is credited with the majority of the kills in the engagement, crewed by Ares, Dr. Truffles, and Svenka Vilhnova.   On the ground, Greystar and New Moon Cooperative notables fought to secure an ECM station against both a light tank detachment, and an entrenched enemy who commanded the entire ring of defensive installations around the hill. A Greystar mass attack saw heavy casualties, but ultimately was able to take control of the facility. Agent Obsidia Sharpshot, and Horacio of the New Moon Cooperative saw themselves as an army of two, holding back a Still Lady militia counter attack long enough for reinforcements to arrive.   A team was inserted on the ground to liberate a prison holding Still Lady political prisoners. Agent Joel, Agent Davenport, and Agent Tuttle, all of Greystar, were instrumental in getting prisoners out through a mix of stealth and subterfuge, without causing a single civilian casualty.   A purge squad of Alek Komirav, Vitrol Agathon, and Noel Hallewell proceeded to the building that housed the Psychic Academy in the twisted image of The Still Lady, and were able to overcome resistance from both mortal defenders and bound shadows within to successfully level the building. All corrupted artifacts inside were destroyed.   Herald Daitrij, Eisheru Tidecaller, Agent Tychos, Venser Reach, and Hailey Clements took the fight to The Still Lady herself, all having had past dealings with her in some way. Having solved puzzles in her lair, they finally came face to face with the Eaten Goddess herself. In the end, Herald Daitrij and Linya Tychos were killed in the fighting. Hailey Clements was privately evacuated from the scene, listed as in critical condition.
