A Treasure Lost to Time

Greystar agents explore their new battleship, and learn about the fate of the ancient Slyth Empire.

Now that the shipyard was secure and back in the Acastus gravity well, it was time to inspect the treasures that were held within. Eisheru, Kelvin and Svenka all split up to see what they can learn from the Slyth Precursors and their ship construction techniques.   Eisheru had discovered that the Slyth battleship was part of a long range patrol group that was searching for something called the Star Forge. An ancient relic or place that had long been taken by the Shapers. Other than the ship's purpose, Eisheru was able to figure out that the Remnant had picked up the derelict Slyth Battleship in orbit around Wasim. Tactical data was recovered as well as a peculiar dart gun. On the Bridge, Eisheru managed to get some basic translation protocols established and organized the technicians so they could begin deciphering the many ships computer systems.   Meanwhile Svenka had managed to not only locate the intact reactor but to start it up as well to provide baseline power to the ship. The Slyth used advanced power generation technology and more study would have to take place to get the reactor running at full power. As she moved to the Medbay and Laboratory, Svenka soon discovered why the ship was likely empty. There was a contaminant in the air of the Medbay and alerts starting showing on her vac suit. She hurriedly performs some basic tests and analysis and soon discovers that the airborne contamination was something much more sinister. The weaponized virus that the Slyth had used to fight their own civil war had gotten loose on the ship and Svenka was now standing in the middle of the epicenter. Through some quick thinking and a few tense minutes later, Svenka was able to neutralize the virus and clear the threat.   Elsewhere on the ship, Kelvin was hard at work discovering the ship's defensive capabilities. He discovered that the Slyth had advanced Kinetic Shielding technology. As he explored other parts of the ship he came across the life support system and with a few deft adjustments, made the environment much more friendly to humanoid physiology. He also notices that the large gun boat is outfitted with multiple high power/high frequency energy weapons that would be devastating against the flesh like carapace of Shaper ships.   With their investigations complete and reports written, work could begin to getting the ship spaceworthy yet again. Little did the agents of the Greystar Confederation know, but danger was going to be heading their way through metadimensional space...
