Old enemies resurface.

Cass Mcelroy was the first Greenbriar notable to meet the Tenebrian Remnant, self described as 'inheritors' of the empire's old legacy, though with some new ideology after the events of The Scream.   Like on Gudrun, and everywhere else in the universe, the empire held worlds that later formed into the Remnant experienced the destructive events of The Scream. A handful of strong garrison worlds had managed to make it through the immediate effects of the crisis with minimal disruption- now pledging to destroy psychics- in their view the scourge that caused this disaster.   On Tsatsos, Cass met sergeant Kabanda, who parlayed after a brief firefight that left one dead on each side. They parted ways under tense, but honorable circumstances, but this was not to remain.   Negotiations between Kincaid and the assigned Remnant ambassador devolved into hostility when they demanded Greenbriar enter an alliance, and put down their own psychics as collateral. When Kincaid refused, the request was repeated, this time offering Greenbriar a place as a vassal state.   Kincaid again refused, and relations went from cool to frigid.
