Battle of Acastus: Part II Fleshy Boogaloo
The space battle had ended but that did not mean the threat was no more. There was a vast amount of debris, both from the defending fleet and the Fleshshapers, that still hung in orbit around Acastus. And on the planet a sliver of the battle moon had made landfall roughly 1000 kilometers outside Ash City limits. A plan was devised and Eisheru Tidecaller would accompany Governor Seung Whitaker and CIS Chief Dorian Guerra in a ground assault on the shaper fortress. Meanwhile in space, Agents Kelvin Bell and Svenka Vilnovha looked to rescue any remaining survivors and to prevent any more shaper masses from landing anywhere else in the system. On the ground the Greystar Agent and two UNW representatives decide the best way to assault the fortress was through orbital drop. The trio sustained some anti-aircraft fire but managed to make it to the ground in one piece. With the full blown assault occurring outside the fortress walls, there was little left to defend the interior walkways. The trio managed to destroy flesh-shaper mech unit, or their twisted equivalent, before making their way to the central 'brain' of the fortress. Without thinking as to the consequences, or to even inform his two friends, Eisheru reached out and telepathically connected with the entity that drives the flesh-shapers. The mistake was disastrous. The presence in the central cortex managed to take over control of Eisheru's body and began attacking Dorian and Seung. Eisheru began the excruciating process of turning Dorian into a Flesh-Shaper. Dorian with some quick thinking of his own cut off his own arm to stop the spread of the infection that was beginning to take root. Governor Seung through force of will and the force of his fist, subdued Eisheru and destroyed the brain like structure that controlled the shapers on the planet. Wounded and still in dangerous territory, Seung Whitaker hoisted both the wounded CIS Chief and the unconcious Merlon over his shoulder and exfiltrated the fortress to the safety of waiting assault teams. Agents Kelvin and Svenka continued with their plan of space cleanup completely unaware of the carnage that was happening on the planet surface. The two of them managed to detect some distress signals being broadcasted from a Red Sangha wreck. The two deftly entered the partially destroyed ship only to find multiple shaper like entities onboard. After some quick work dispatching the dog like creatures, they secured the survivors and led them back to the Mokoshi's Wings. This was to be an arduous and long process to clear all the wreckage and drag it into the sun's local gravity well. That's when the pair had an idea. The Suha Gun. Some communication was sent to Suha and later relayed to the pair. The use of the sub-munition would be able to pull all of the debris and fleshy masses into one dense object to be jettisoned into the weak pulsar. Preparations were made and the area was cleared of any friendly survivors. Days go by and the skyscraper sized munition enters the local gravity well and implodes over the former battlefield. A day to be known as The Day of Thunder for all time on Suha, the day their Great Work was finally used.
