Military action
UNW operatives end the Remnant War, horror and death follow.
The planet Creusa was identified by Cyrus Adonis as the heart of Tenebrian Remnant operations, and the lynchpin of the vast industry needed to keep their navy afloat. Heavily defended, staffed by the fanatical Chainveil, and further reinforced with capital ships, Creusa promised to be a demanding and costly mission. The United Nation of Worlds, and allied Red Sangha fleet jumped into the system, and after a brief conference aboard the Vox Finalis, battle was joined. Three orbital platforms protected the planet, two strictly military, and one for civilian trade traffic. Teams were drawn up to seize them all before a second phase of an actual planetary invasion could begin. Brutal fighting erupted on all three platforms, with Chainveil suicide attacks common- in addition to automated defenses, and traps. Red Sangha in particular advanced mercilessly, their only objective being the absolute capture of the stations bridge. It was reported that during the fighting, Calidorious Odenburg in particular displayed strange powers that assisted him in surviving a botched ambush against automated gun platform reinforcements. After hours of fighting, a badly mauled UNW fleet under Lord Admiral Rigers, sat in orbit, in command of the skies. Further plans were devised to capture the cities below, along with a strange floating mining facility called a TECT, where a team consisting of Dax Withers, Grupp, and Seung Whitaker found over 300 million Creusan citizens, and likely prisoners, all trapped inside of a massive telekinetic mining rig. Unwilling to attempt to disable it on their own, they brought news of the atrocity back to the surface for Elysium Initiative engineers to destroy. City garrisons were likewise assaulted, as partisans recruited by Garion the Great- then unknown to the people as Mordecai the Brown in disguise, rose up to help the UNW forces. The commanders were defeated, or captured, and upon their elimination, surrender terms were issued, and accepted. Calidorious and Svenka in particular have the distinction of taking the highest ranking prisoner from the battle. In a bizarre incident, Marshals Sobol and Marshal Hardt eschewed the use of landing craft and deployed via grav chute- missing their targets by miles, and falling to their deaths inside the gas giant.
