  The Vello system is centered around a burning yellow sun featuring an inhabited planet at the distant edge of the goldilocks zone. This planet also has a moon consiting of an unbroken sea of ice. A very dense and untapped asteroid field occupies the distant reaches of the system. Vello lacks a gas giant. It is patrolled by a small system defense fleet consisting of three patrol boats, a corvette, and their flagship, a heavy frigate. Each ship is heavily behind in upkeep as the planet can no longer produced the parts needed to keep them running correctly.   Several small cities occupy the surface of the planet ,and there is a mix of Human, 'Tre , and Geon inhabitants in each of the settled areas. A large forest of frozen trees and ice spikes separates the planet into a western and eastern hemisphere. Dozens of explorers have tried finding a way through the dense region to the other side. All have failed. Limited air travel is the only way to cross this belt from one hemisphere to another.   The Vello ssytem is a neutral system, but Northern Free State Singularity diplomats have shown a recent interest in the planet. An embassy is currently being planned, though its exact site on the surface has not yet been agreed upon.
