The House of the Sun
The House of the Sun is one of the great houses with the status of Elector within the Milthrilheart Elected Monarchy.
Upon ascension to the leadership of the House of the Sun, the Lord or Lady doing so forgoes their previous name, becoming simply Lord or Lady Helios.
The House of the Sun has found itself in a status of diminished glory due to the technological and economic stagnation caused by The Scream and is spending its vast reserves of credits on dozens of projects throughout its home hold in The Glittering City, and in the lesser holds where lesser houses sworn to their banner carry out their will. The current Lord Helios has pledged to make Kost 1 safe and profitable again,spending almost the last of the houses' great fortune to assemble planetary expeditions meant to open trade, find untapped sources of natural resources, and secure the countryside for generations to come.
The House of the Sun was the first to view this post-Scream age as a new age of legend and has embraced this era of change wholeheartedly. This hunt for glory is seen in the personal arms and armor of its leadership and houseguard, where each weapon piece of plate is as much artwork as it is Tech Level 4 equipment. Gold plating, small precious stones, elaborate sculpting, and rich fabric are all part of privileged House of the Sun kit.
The few pieces that have been smuggled out of House hands have sold for exorbitant prices on the black market.
