Taros Paganism

Written By: Jeowall   Taros Paganism is most commonly found in the Golgis and Vapormills area of Gudrun, but since spike travel was possible again and Taros started traveling the Iron Stars, so did the Taros Paganism. The lore goes as follows:   In the beginning, there was nothing, only the will of one God, Rodu. Almighty and omniscient from another plane of existence he wanted to create his own universe. He created the matter we all consist of and he created Gudrun. But after creating perfection he got bored and thus created Belobog and Chernobog. The entities of Light and Darkness. Rodu balanced them in power and wanted them to fill the universe with equally perfect worlds. Rodu told them that he will come back once they finished their work. He left this plane of existence and was never seen again. To this day everyone that believes in this Taros Paganism sees Rodu's return as a potential golden age and the ascension for all believers.   For eons, Belobog and Chernobog with their armies of demigods created stars and planets. Some of them rivaled Gudrun in beauty. On one fateful day, they started disputing about who created the most beautiful worlds. That dispute turned violent and for eons the entities and their demigods waged war, destroying most of the worlds they created. That's why there are only so few habitable worlds left. The final battle led to both of them dying in one big blow creating a massive black hole, a place where light and darkness exist at the same time and are never able to escape. From that day on the universe was rotating.   Their firstborn sons Svarog, Belobogs son and the God of the Heaven, and Svetovid, Chernobogs son and the God of War, negotiated peace. A peace that stands to this day. They decided to rule over all worlds together to eliminate jealousy and mistrust. But without the power of their fathers, they could not rebuild what was destroyed and decided to create their heavenly retreat on Gudrun. All they could do was uplift some of the demigods to fully powered gods. Once they arrived on Gudrun they were stunned by the rich creativity and craftsmanship that the creator Rodu has shown with this planet. They also found out that they weren't alone. Rodu had created a race of mortals that were already taming the planet. The gods were mildly upset when they saw that Rodu created those mortals in his image and thus in their own as well. But they all decided that they will care for the well being of these mortals from now on. And they gave them their name, Taros.   After some time the Gods began settling down and they started bonding. Svetovid married Lelia, the Goddess of Mercy and Spring. At the same time, Svarog married Lada the Goddess of Nature and Harmony, and one of the most important ones. And soon many offspring followed. Lelia gave birth Jüterbog, the God of the Moon, and Flynz the God of Death. Lada gave birth to Dajbog, the God of the Sun, Perun, God of Thunder and Storms, Ognyena, the Goddess of the Celestial Fire, and Ciza, the Goddess of Hunting, Forests, and Fertility.   There are countless minor gods or other magical creatures that see worship as well. The broad majority of believers of Taros Paganism will pray to or worship that being that is relevant for their wishes or problems. Some professions wear certain insignias, the symbol of Svetovid can be found most frequently within the army for example. Only priests of a certain god or entity are focused on just one being, but even they speak occasional prayers to others.   As with most beliefs the Taros Paganism isn't a majority belief anymore but the heritage is still found all over Gudrun.
