Sanjaru is a large system warm with the heat of two bright yellow suns. There is a dead planet furthest from the system core, followed by a gas giant a few distance rings in. A small asteroid field separates the out system from the system core, where a large planet exists firmly in the habitable zone.    The natives here share their world with giant lizards- akin to dinosaurs, and have mastered using them as beasts of burden and industrial partners as their more traditional technologies have failed.  Heavy mineworks have seen their machines run dry of fuel, and tamed dinosaurs take up the roles of those now idle metal giants.   The Communist Brotherhood of Stellar States has invested time in the central continent, empowering a local sheriff by the name of Norwood to lead a settlement. The people there are hard workers, focused on mining and trying to bootstrap their society back into modernity.   In February 2670, Parsnips Jackall explored the western continent and helped the locals complete three armed merchant ships named The Seaward, Fin and Tonic, and Old Bouy. There is a budding wood and metals trade developing between the western and central continents. A comms network is also being established and settlements enjoy infrequent electronic communication where before it had once been impossible without the use of messengers braving the wilds.

Important Sites and Settlements

The Spineridge Mountains and their attached mine is a string of tall mountains stretching from the equator to the southern pole of the continent , on the eastern side of the planet. There was once a mandate era mining project here but the work has been abandoned, as have the large city ruins some 600km to its north.

A small settlement of what looks to be surviving locals has sprung up several kilometers south of the mine, and it looks as though they are having problems equivalent to Central's miners on overflight. A large statue of a Brontosaurus named Brutus who saved the village from a pack of carnivores in the recent past is in a clearing just outside the southern entrance of the city.   Triceracity is a large settlement on the western continent of the planet where close to a third of the population lives. The locals there are led by a woman known as their medicine woman, one of the few psychics that managed to keep themselves together during The Scream. Her powers are diminished, but the respect those in Triceracity show toward her leadership has not. Thus far she is cautious about the developing trade netweork between her settlement and the central continent, but does appreciate the influx of metals in her otherwise metal poor region. This city is walled and defended. The locals use a mix of hand weapons, bows, and firearms though these are projectile based, and rare.   Central Mine is a large town run by Sheriff Norwood, one of the first locals to put their trust in the CBSS. The mountains there are rich in iron and other common ores. Several CBSS exploration teams have removed the infestations of hostile wildlife, and have improved the mines for both safety and structrual stability. The settlement is a defended with timber walls, with farms in cleared areas of forest outside of it. These woods are also well patrolled by Norwood's Rangers, a group of well trained citizens capable of dealing with bandits and small packs of predatory dinos alike. This city is about to make a great jump forward as ore now flows to primitive smelters and factories set up in this city, and the first batches being sent across the sea have begun reaching customers in Triceracity.   The Underground City does not currently have a name. It was discovered in March 2670 when Parsnips Jackall led an expedition across the continent to discover the secrets of the jungle. A trapped named Kennedy informed Jackall that his people had indeed survived The Scream, but they were forced to move underground into the sewers and catacombs below their city to survive the dinosaurs that commonly hunt in the area.
