Saliv Sloth
The Saliv Sloth is a large herbivore that stands between two and three meters tall at full height.
This species displays nesting behavior and commonly nests with a single partner for life, or until death takes one of the mated pair. If the Sloth is young enough there have been cases of new mates being taken after the death of one member of the pair.
The Saliv Sloth is a creature of routine, spending their days in two hour blocks of foraging for food, collecting nesting material, grooming, and taking care of any young they may have birthed. One of the pair is always at the nest if there are young sloths present. Diet for both adults and young consists of berries, the soft parts of the insides of green wood, broad leaves, roots, and occasionally pine cones and small stones for roughage when other forms of food in the local environment are low. The Sloths will occasionally eat small insects and other opportunistic protietn that crosses their path.
This creature is slow on the ground but can climb quickly and is capable of sprinting short distances with controlled bursts of speed. They will always try to avoid or escape a fight if possible, but when cornered they will attack with a set of strong jaws and long claws on their forelimbs. These claws are normally used to climb tall trees or grip on to vines, but are fearsome weapons if the Sloth is forced to fight. Defensive wounds on these creatures indicates they have predators, but it is currently unknown if they are the prey of humans, Terminals, or an undiscovered part of the Saliv food chain.
It is estimated the creatures live for fifty standard years.
The Saliv Sloth was first discovered by an Inheritor Alliance explorer named Daerevrurr
